Taiko Audio Extreme Router

Hi, the only files you'll see from the networked router is if a USB drive is attached to it. If you'd like to manipulate the D drive on the Extreme, attach a computer or iPad to the router wirelessly and use VNC to view the Extreme file system.
Alternately, if you connect a computer
that is not true. You can set up port forwarding and see the drives on the Extreme from a computer on a different subnet.
Sure, but he clearly doesn't have port forwarding set up, and he's connected to the router because it's showing up on his network. So the only files hell see on the networked router is the USB port. To solve his immediate problem, the easiest and most straight forward solution is to use VNC or map the Extreme as a drive on his network. When done, he can disconnect the extra computer from the router. Port forwarding is a more complex solution which is helpful if one requires frequent access to the Extreme file system.

He does have port forwarding set up but something isn’t right. I have been trying to help him for the past couple of hours.

Okay issue solved , don't ask what I did diffrent today than yesterday idk . Ed logged on and ran into same wall as me with port forwarding and was going to discuss it with Ted . After our Teamviewer session was over I deleted all port forwarding entries on taiko router and re entered them and yay ! it worked . Anyway a big thanks to David and Ed for time spent .

Great. Even though you are using the router IP address you are actually logging into the Extreme.

Correct

Taiko Router IP and Taiko Extreme Credentials

Maybe this should be added to the steps

My last instructions in the thread are:

“The username and password are the same credentials as VNC as well.”

Those would be the credentials for the Extreme (or Olympus). People may have changed their username and password from the default.

Following the installation of my router and DSD yesterday I can play local files but can't play from either Tidal or Qobuz. I'm on the Taiko wifi, the firmware is up to date, and I have logged off and back on both streaming services. The Qobuz and Tidal screens show up but are not populated and don't respond to any buttons. I've tried restarts, and the recommended power cycles a few times. What am I missing?

In XDMS, right?

Here is a trick to try. Go to Settings --> Connect and change the last digit of the local IP address. For example, the IP of my Extreme is 192.168.100.18 - I change that to 192.168.100.19. Hit Connect and wait until the connection times out.
Once the connection times out, change the IP back to the old IP of your Extreme and hit Connect again. You should be able to connect and browse Tidal / Qobuz.

Thank you, nenon.

Yes in XDMS. Do you think this issue would disappear if I used Roon instead? I will try what you recommend.

Hmmm, when I try to change the IP, the Settings screen behaves the same as the Qobuz screen. However, if I change local file albums, the Settings screen returns appears normal but misbehaves when I attempt to change the IP.

Try restarting your router, Extreme (from the front button), and XDMS player in that order. Wait a couple of minutes after restarting the router and before you restart the Extreme. Then make sure you are connected back to the Taiko WiFi. If that does not help, reach out to Taiko support.
