@alwayslearning - I’m glad that you enjoyed my Prince cord. From the timings you mention plus usage on Extreme, it sounds to me like it was an earlier version using the silver plated iec. The palladium plated iec version replaced it two years ago and gives more clarity, incisiveness and realism...
@orrman - i don’t personally know but wouldn’t be surprised if both models use the same volume pot. Best shoot an email to Silvio at the factory to confirm.
@neac1976 - I run my Baltic off a Taiko Extreme and it’s a great combination. Feel free to drop me an email and I’ll send you a video recording. With the Olympus xdmi shipping very soon, Emile will be having ex-demo Extremes coming available.
@Steve Williams - that looks like a super holiday and thanks for sharing in so much detail. Is one on my bucket list also, likely for when we are no longer constrained by school holiday schedules.
The rear of the plug has a round locking barrel rather than the rectangular clip of the older cat6a plug. Most 2020 models have a directional arrow on the heatshrinks, though the earlier ones made during the pandemic lockdown period had to use the older reserva label shrink.
Am going to give these a whirl tomorrow for a customer with an MSB dac, whose xlr jacks are mounted too close for comfort for my usual Bocchino plugs. The finish looks lovely and they have my preferred set screw mounting but space at rear of barrel is tighter than I would have liked.
A couple of new arrivals from @takacs75 today - az1 adapter (for a friend) and also a pair of ecc40 adapters. The latter are for my Levante amplifier (hence the off centre orientation in dac, whose sockets are aligned differently) but is easier to burn them in on the dac.
Audiophile Bill experimented with copper mesh tubes like this on his GG some years ago and reported sonic improvements. Worth digging out his posts and experimenting with.
