Standard components nothing special, I've read they match transistors and components very precisely. that is probably the secret of the much praised sound.

P.S a No Go Cable ties around the capacitors are usually only seen as DiYView attachment 74766

I am completely underwhelmed as well

The look is much less important than the sonic performance.
So far all 711 Mk3 owners are very happy!

Agree. Looking inside and seeing those caps reminds me of....

I don't mind the non-detachable power cord. One less variables (and less money) to worry about, and the fact that the power cord cables are hardwired to the amp have sonic benefits as well.

I used to use FM's own speaker cables mostly because the type of super size banana plugs is uncommon. I ended up buying a set of banana plug adaptors from Japan and had better results with another brand of speaker cables.

Hi zbub! Do you know where to obtain a pair of these adaptor plugs for the FMA amps? It would be nice to have a pair of them for cable tests... Thanks!

Do FM Acoustics Amplifiers have an auto start feature (Does the amp turn on and off by the music signal)?

Otherwise, how do you turn them on and off?

What is the Knob next to the balance input for?

This company doesn't have a decent set of manuals open to public. They keep everything so secretive and hidden.

The two knobs are for adjusting the gain of the poweramp.
This is an excellent design and present in almost all of FM's poweramps.

The lighted roundish logo on the frontplate is actually an on/off push switch.

Don't they have an auto standby / auto sense switch?
Do you have to turn the amplifier on and off manually? Doesn't it go in standby mode when there is no incoming signal?

Yup I have to turn the amp on/off manually, and there's no standby mode.

Imagine if they match more expensive components... Hmm mind boggling... Matching cheap components I don't get...
