Whatever they sell is great, they stop selling it well it now has issued and sounds bad, this new product I sell kills it. Well if they had ears you think they hear all the flaws of the product they no longer carry would have been heard then. All Audiophile huslers. Reviewers can be the same, just to get us buying and buying and buying, always hoping for the next big thing. Certain brands are pushed for years then they disappear and new models have pushed again issues after issues across the mediums.

I just happened across this Hi-Fi guy on YouTube. I'll say one thing, he is funny. And not a shrinking violet. His description of what he likes or doesn't like in a DAC is right up the Natural Sound alley, though I think he manages to avoid saying the word "natural." Kudos on that!

Yes, he is quite the character and doesn't mind spending high 5 digit sums on the right gear. He also doesn't hold back on calling out snake oil or "HEAR tm " when he sees it. What is "HEAR" , well, I just made it up. " High End Audio Robbery " If you think he is entertaining, check out his Vin Diesel look alike buddy, Jay, they have recently been collaborating. I think Jay can spend 6 figures or more on some of his gear. Check him out. Are we not entertained? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1RalNTbbkMouvaR0XhKIiA

He also sells audio gear, so if he sells it he loves it, and if he no longer does, adios, Kevin at Upscale is that way, but they both have the knowledge, know their stuff, and HOW TO SELL YOU! LOL.

He sells gear. He is not a hobbyist but a businessman selling gear to you and me.

Absolutely. Any time, Anyone, is selling something, take it with a grain of salt. The one time I heard an MSB DAC, I didn't think it sounded analytical. System dependent, no doubt. I don't know if I would say his channel is necessarily driven by controversy. I do think he makes some legitimate criticisms of the high end audio industry.
What a daft thing to say, everyone sells something , wake up...

Ahem! I say it is you, Sir, that is the one saying the daffy things!

The whole notion of the "HiFi Tribe" standing up to the Audio establishment and "the Man"
in order to enlighten audiophiles to true value and quality .... or something like that .... Do you
think anyone takes that seriously? The difference between your approach and everyone else selling something is that you try to sell
yourself as the only honest one.

I listen to some of your video's and think about 50% of the content has merit when you're not contradicting yourself all over the place! Your product line looks good too.

I used to love this channel as well when it was demos, A/B of products, peaks inside equipment and tweaks of a really cool system. I also am not as much of a fan of the ranty-rant rabbit hole the channel has gone down. Instead of telling me how others are doing it wrong, just show your way and discuss why you like it. This is all for fun and enjoyment. Negativity is not productive. The problems with competitor’s products do not sell yours; their virtue does. You don’t rise by pushing others down…. That said, Mikey seems like a cool dude who would be fun to visit and hang out with. I wish him well.

If the MSB dac sounds analytical and not musical its the system not the dac. I do not get that kind of sound at my place. I have heard the Lapmizator and Total dac and also the best Nagra dac which also is a 2XDSD dac. The Bricasti Dac I had at the time was better than the others. I did like the Lampizator, but did not like the Total Dac or the Nagra which sounded like you put a blanket over the speakers. I think the MSB is the best dac so far that I ever heard. I just listened to Yes Fragile on a 24/96 download that sounded amazing no brightness at all. Listen to John Lee Hooker or Muddy Water The Folk Singer and wow it takes you emotionally to another place.
You have to beg borrow or steal a MOLA MOLA Tambaqui to hear. With optimised gain and a killer Tube Preamp, this combiation is really impossible to beat for digital, and I've heard every DAC mentioned on this thread and many many more.
