"Remote" Music Server System power update with new Shunyata PS10 power distributor-WOW

So.... last night I replaced the Shunyata Hydra 4 that was powering my Pace Internet router, Mac Mini ROON Core*, and EtherREGEN Ethernet switch* in the "music server room" with the new Shunyata PS10 power distributor (which has -24 dB of noise reduction, BTW) and, man!

The improvement was NOT subtle.

'Mo betta for any audio attribute you'd care to discuss. Better....everything. Everywhere. Holy smokes!

The PS10 makes for the perfect power distributor for "networked" components comprising a music server system, particularly if that music server system is "remote" to the main audio rack.

Next step is to power the Pace Router with a proper linear power supply instead of it's blasted SMPS...urg.

*-these are powered by Shunyata Venom 14 NR power cords (including previously with the Hydra 4 as well)

That's great! I am thinking to buy a PS8 before knowing the launch of the PS10. It seems that this is a replacement model over the PS8 which was there in the market for man years! Other than for the source or "network" stuffs, do you think it works well on power amp too?

Yes, I know for a fact it does. Power amp, preamp, and source components. It'll also make your home theatre look better, too.

This is great! Thank you for your impressions. For those not in a position to get the Everest, up there in the outer stratosphere (the Outer Limits?!?), this is good news. I'm going to request an audition of both the Venom V16 as well as the Hydra Delta D6. As good as reviews are, I need to hear something with my own ears in my own system. That said, it is admirable that Shunyata prices quality components at all price point levels. Not the case with some other companies - like one located in uppermost New England (and lower New England, too!), perhaps?

Yes, it could be accurately said Shunyata is on a "mission" to make a range of products that provide functionality and value propositions at all price points to accommodate a range of folks' budgets, not just stuff for the uber-high end. I just auditioned the Venom V16 in my system recently, and it is really, really impressive; more so than I would have thought. In fact, it easily outperforms the Triton V1 I bought back in 2011 for $5K. It's also got better quality outlets and a LOT more of them.

And, it has a ground terminal to be able to use it's GP-NR (ground-plane noise reduction) system, which my Triton did not.This is a system that should not be overlooked by customers as it provides audible improvements in the reduction of ground-plane noise. Long story short, I could live with and use a Venom V16 for my system and be very satisfied with the improvements it brings to the system. I think you'll find your audition to be very interesting.

I am currently thinking to extend the outlets by adding a power strip and was studying in between the Shunyata ps10 vs the IFI power station. Do you think which could do a better job?

The PS10, definitely. I heard an iFi Power Station at a friend’s system, and it did effectively nothing to remove the hash, grunge, and grain from the AC mains powering his system. His core system components were pretty good, but I found the system almost unlistenable.

Thanks for your comments! I am actually wondering if an active power bar would make any sense if I am now using the stromtank battery supply but found it too difficult to plug my devices in at the back of it…..so a power bar would be appropriate together with the upgradation if possible.

The PS10 is excellent; I use mine as the power distributor for my HT set-up.
If you can afford it, the Venom V16 is even better.
