Lampizator announcement: launch of our all new TOTL HORIZON DAC

Some nice sentiments expressed here regarding service. But I'm a numbers kind of guy. So let's look at that since a broad range of Horizon production rates have been implied over time.

Forgive me if this isn't completely accurate, it's all I have to work with.

#6 might deliver today. That's a production rate of .66 units per week.

The earliest projections showed that I would have a unit already. Now it projects out to 12-7-2022. I sold equipment to put a bow on funding for the earliest possible delivery. No promises were made, but just trying to be ready.

I'm sure some of you here have the option to walk over to the barn and pick out a Ferrari to drive while your skunk works Porsche is being handbuilt by artisans. (The last car I ordered showed a production date and delivery date at time of order. But that's an ERP driven world.) But if you need to sell the Escort to fund the purchase, you might want to be aware of how much walking is in your future. CSB #1.

Feel free to correct me on how wrong I am, and I hope I'm wrong, but please, no smoke and mirrors.

Top priority over a tube adapter? I'm confused, they said send it back and it will be fixed . What are they suppose to do ? If your DAC breaks you have to also send it back to get fixed and that will take a couple weeks atleast . I'm sure they are busy just like Lampizator is trying to get orders out .
I run a business, and this is how we treat our screw ups for any customer, regardless of how small the item. The smaller it is, the quicker it usually is to fix. They just sold him something that doesn't work. Their QA must not be too good, but they can make up for that some with excellent customer service (or not, it seems - - just sayin').

Curious what do you expect woo audio to do ? Mike from Woo Audio has to reach out to Jack which is not in the US . Just like Fred would have to reach out to Fikus

Well it's just one got those days .....yes the Woo is expensive and handsomely made and guess what, mine sounds different than the double adapters I got from Lukasz ....wanna know why.....one of them is DOA. I put both tubes in and powered everything up and there was no glow from the 5687 closest to me. I thought I blew the tube which really would have pissed me off but when I switched back to Lukasz double adapter the tube glows and everything functions great. Just to be sure I switched the Woo socket that didn't work to the other socket and other tube. .....DOA

I spoke to Woo and have a RA to send back. What an annoyance. Waited two weeks for the build and another 3-4 days to ship. When I talked to him and asked if it would take another two weeks to wait, he said, "it might, depending on how busy they are.
His response to this sounds disappointing. You'd sure think you'd be a top priority after this.

As Paul Harvey used to say, "and now you know the rest of the story........"

I just got an email from Mike at Woo Audio and rather than sending me an RA number, he is sending a brand new 5687 to 6sn7 adapter which I will have on Monday. He is also including a return shipping label for me to return the defective adapter
Thanks to Mike and yes I am impressed with the customer service

We would make it really clear to our customer that it will be addressed with urgency, because we recognize that it should be our problem, not his. From what Steve reports, it sounds like he's being prepped to wait through a queue. We'd put him at the front of the queue, that's all.

Well, that does sound like good customer service! That's the best recovery you could ask for. (Your update slipped in while I was offering my answer to rau...)

All company's and private sellers handle things diffrent , do I always agree on the way some things are handled no . I have a 100% seller feedback on multiple sites well over 2000 feedbacks .
Anytime I sold a item if there was a problem I would cover return shipping and issue refund once item was returned. If it's shipping damage I never made buyer wait for claim to finish , always refunded them . There have been plenty times sellers made me pay return shipping on items I returned that got delivered damaged or not working .
The point I was trying to make without causing a huge argument was when a customer is upset about about something and posts it , people start justifying it . This happens all over the web . This is always going effect the actual buyer more than group reading the post . Just because others had a good experience doesnt mean everyone will .
Sorry for derailing this advert about the Horizon. Glad Mike took care of Steve and hopefully Steve can enjoy his adapters on Monday .

Should have kept the escort, not much as trade in brother

For me, the preamp and cables I sold nearly bridged the gap between Pacific and Horizon. Should be a net gain in SQ/$. However, my backup pre in the interim is the Escort:rolleyes:

A question do you own and have directly compared both dacs in same system ? Please reply

Well, my Horizon showed up earlier today. Out of the gate, I would say a much lower noise floor, more tonal density and weight, a more 3D soundstage (owing more to increased depth than to increased width), more relaxed sound overall and deeper and more articulate bass. All in all, a pretty comprehensive set of boxes checked without any meaningful warm up or burn in.

As exciting as that is (and it is pretty darn exciting), what put the biggest smile on my face was the note included in the flight case from Lukasz to me, a photo of which I am attaching. Read it, and know how awesome this company is:)

It appears this is directed to me? No I haven’t heard for myself yet. I’m just convinced that this is a step in the right direction based on reports here. Also, Rodney is near me and convinced me this is the right direction too. I’ll try it without a $$$$ preamp first. If it’s better with a good pre I’ll do that later. Just wanted to get an order in before they are all gone and this was the way I could do it, and get an Extreme too :p

Looks like we have another happy customer here. Good to see another opinion.
