Visit to Marc C.'s (SpiritOfMusic's) House in England

I've asked all the lovely people in my village to switch off all their power as well. Good audio is such a team effort.

You are the embodiment of Games of Thrones aren't you!
Marc was thinking of hosting the next red wedding also up at the chapel.

You are a country boy now Marc, they turn off everything and go to bed at 9.30 PM anyway ! ;)

If only they’d turn off the internet too. :D:D:D

In my expirience Hydro energy sounds the most natural .
Morricab / christophe have the natural advantage
I need to find a place by a stream where I can put in a water wheel for my own endless supply of hifi power!

I believe Audio Note UK's Austrian speaker factory is powered by local stream hydroelectric power.

Maybe I should use the hot air on this forum. An inexhaustible supply. I provide a lot myself.

An amusing diversion for the thread, but noise on my grid is way down on London. We live in a very quiet, semi rural area, only sporadic nearby industrial.
My source of noise is not juice from my 8kVA balanced transformer, just electro mechanical vibration in the coil and buzz from a cheap thin chassis.
Moving the transformer 1m to outside the room has eliminated the audibility of this physical noise. Whereas noise on my line is not an issue.

Sorry for the spin off .
But I can just imagine audiophiles using their car battery for their systems .
Adn then see the discussion develop which battery sounds best .
Tesla Volkswagen Daimler ....lol
I was thinking more the typical lead/acid type that normal petrol or diesel burning cars use...not the Li batteries in a Tesla et. al. Living Voice brought a huge number of them to Munich and I think it elevated their sound to next level stuff.

Well Ron, you're absolutely right, and I was certainly remiss in being so lazy (stubborn?) in not sorting this before. Ironically I could have done this on day one early 2017, before you visited, but obviously passed over the opportunity.
You've replaced your Zu's?
?

Very good Gavin, I'm afraid I'm stuck with them. I guess they must *still* be doing *something* right.
Indeed my core gear from 2012-2014 hasn't been replaced, just updated and modded.

Sorry Marc, couldn't resist

Glad to hear that you're making progress.
Have you tried running without the balanced power transformer since you moved?

If I had a dime every time...
