Also from power watts to flea watts, with Thomas mayer pre and 45/2a3 power amp, that can be driven with vt25 tubes, and Destination audio type 56/27 pre and 1.8 watt 45 power amp. Mixed and matched too

Of course no fun without tube rolling 6sn7 and exotic 45s on the Destination audio and vt25 including western electrics on the Mayer pre and power. Also 45s in the Mayer power. You can do 45 drives 45 and vt25 drives 45. We didn't have 2a3 then unfortunately

VT-52 is the audio version of VT-25. Was thinking of getting some VT-25 at some stage, just because.

I've borrowed a Goldnote PA-10. SS, 75w.
I'll hook it up and give it a try shortly.

What's the latest on your system? Is the Allnic still the one to go with or have you found some hybrid setup you like better?

My el cheapo cobbled JE Labs type 45 with bog ordinary Philco 45s from ebay sounds magical with the big BG ribbons. I can imagine what these rigs must sound like.

I notice liked the pnoe pic and not the 833/diapason pic. So I will assume it's my looks you liked

You're a handsome fellow, but I'm afraid no competition with the equipment, though the horn helps.

Thanks for asking. I'm only using the Allnic monoblocks right now and have given up on the idea of bi-amping. It's sounding pretty great.
Maybe make a video?

Exlibris said: Sure. A video of the gear or of the sound of the system?

Morricab said: Sound of the system...:)

Me thinks: Fantastic plan... more audio horn porn!

Very much looking forward to hearing your new speakers and seeing again your excellent looking sound room Exlibris.

Thank you! I'm am very pleased with the purchase.
Updated as I missed the video link first go E. It all comes together beautifully, that front wall was a genius move and everything works just right. Love it.

You're too kind. It's just a small, modest condo in downtown Toronto. (I try not to pan over to the kitchen)

I think that’s why I really like it. It’s really refined and not over the top as a space. Warm, elegant and coherent and not at all overstated. Nothing is out of place and the scale is just right. From a designers perspective I find it a beautiful space.
