DCS Vivaldi

Very cool! Thanks for the heads up. I might be able to use my fiber cable again (the TP Link converters were causing some issues).

MF

Its not the TP Link converters causing issues, its got to be a network/switch issue

In any case 233 sounds real good..

Anyone update to network card 350 version?
Notice any thing sonically?

Just checked dCS' website and while they don't list a network card update (which would be for the Upsampler) they do list a DAC upgrade:

Vivaldi DAC – Software Update v2.02
19th May 2017
The locking time has been reduced.

This update adds compatibility with newer hardware.

Minor bugs affecting the 0.2V Output Level setting and the Display On/Off feature have been fixed.

Its on ur Vivaldi app...check for update or put the ip of upsampler into browser and click check for update..........

Thanks for the "heads up!"

Just updated to Network version 3.50

Now listening to Spotify Premium!

Now we have to figure out how to get v2.02 of the DAC software...

It's only available from a CD provided by your dCS dealer.

I had my DAC updated to 2.02 a couple of months ago!

Notice any sonic changes with 350?

I did it sometime ago. The upgrade is not reversible, I can not give an opinion. But it is playing great!

Sorry to interrupt your listening with a non Vivaldi question - I am currently listening to a GAT and premier 350. Did you notice any difference in noise between the GAT and the GAT2?

It just came thru the other day...how did u do it some time ago?
And yes it is reversible if u have older files

I can't answer that as I never had the original GAT! I used a Karan Reference MKII preamp with my CJ 350SA for seven years and then last year, the UK CJ importer offered a GAT 2 for sale, which I purchased. Having never owned a tube preamp before, it does seem rather quiet in use.

Guys

This is a dCS thread.....

Damn you microstrip, you've gone and got me in trouble!

OK, next time I will reformulate: :)

Considering the Vivaldi DAC is noise free, did you notice any difference in subjective noise between the GAT and the GAT2 when used between the Vivaldi DAC and the premier 350 ?

I did not use any files or CDs to carry the upgrade - I regularly check for info in the app, it told me there was an upgrade and I accepted to do it. Five minutes, an upsampler reboot and it was done. The Vivaldi app said version 350 when I checked today, I assumed it was this upgrade that was carried at that time.
