Ehhh! Aside from a suite of test data, what more do you require?

Oh I don't know, aside from a one page blathering most of which was spewing the manufacturers hyperbole with a smattering of what a few compressed CDs sounded like, I guess not much more. But to each his own. Enjoy

As per pretty much all reviews and reviewers, perhaps you might like to volunteer your own services Priaptor as It would appear that you know entirely how it should be done.

I just received my Rossini and clock this week and will have set up next week. Will be using with UPnP input off Naim HDX sever controlling NAS with mixture of ripped CDs and lots of 24/96 24/176 and 24/192 files...no DSD files. Also expect to use with Tidal once it's out. Will compare to my Vivaldi stack,Naim NDS and NDX, ARC Ref DAC and Classe CP800 Let me know what questions you want answered and I will try to oblige. System will be Ayre KX5 twenty, vx5 twenty, woo wes/Stax 009 and wilson Alidas. Vivaldi stack is also with Ayre and Wilson but KXR twenty and MXR Twenty with Alexia's

Thanks. Nice to see a helpful person on this site unlike Harelquin.

I am assuming once burned in it will be an awesome unit. I will be very interested to hear your opinion compared to your Vivaldi stack on one end and Ref DAC on the other as those I am familiar with. If the Rossini + Clock get you very close to a Vivaldi stack it will be something

Right now I am using an MSB IV Diamond Plus and trying to determine whether to upgrade to a V, the SELECT or go a different direction entirely. I actually love my MSB so not in a rush but the Rossini + Clock and Meitner DA2 have gotten my interest for very different reasons.

Thanks
Howie

Silly little man, the only sour notes on this thread thus far have come from yourself!

Over the course of the next few weeks I hope to compare the Vivaldi Transport and DAC with Rossini player and Clock, in my home system, tho of course, any feedback to the forum would prove far too amateurish for Priaptors exacting standards.

Wait now I remember you from the Audio Afficionado forum. You are the man who knows everything. You were the guy criticizing me for my impressions on the GS150 relative to the Ref75 and Ref150 as I got the first working unit here in the states. Yeah that's right you were saying I didn't know what I was talking about even though you never heard it AND were spewing nonsense from some "inside rumor" you were privy to claiming it was no different than a Ref150 with KT150s.

Of course you changed your tune, or at least backed down, when HiFi+ or one of those English reviewers gave it their highest recommendation and put it in a class above all other ARC amps.

Sleep well knowing all things. I will wait for Enatai's opinion a real owner and listener

Howie, I have a lot of respect for the Rossini. There's also some impressions in a recent thread by Al M and PeterA.

I see you are using NADAC another DAC that has recently caught my interest since I began playing around with HQPlayer. Curious how you compare the two specifically regarding upsampling to DSD with HQPlayer. I am extremely interested in that in particular.

I doubt anyone here pays much attention to reviews - I can't remember the last time I read a bad one. In the 1970's I think. Before advertising. I enjoy Hi Fi Critic for that reason. Then again, so much of the gear reviewed today is outstanding - it really is just a question of seasoning to taste.

I will have to track down a listen to the dCS equipment. It has always left me a little cold; amazing resolution and transparency but lacks a little life for me. No doubt the newer models, or perhaps more importantly the system and room they are heard in, would change this perception.

You fellows in the USA & Europe have so many hi-end shops. Our closest place to hear compartive hi-end, outside of private residences, is at the Adelphi shopping precinct in Singapore.

That is one of the reasons I enjoy reading this forum so much - because of the wonderful group of contributors that help me understand what is out there and how it relates to what I have heard.

The fights and bickering - I can do without. That is just horrid, and takes away from the overall experience.

As I said, Silly Little Man! With some sort of ancient petty grudge It would seem, I take it you are referring in your little rant to the following thread where your 'dealer buddy' supplied you with the GS amp to rave about.

How Pathetic!

My apologies to the OP for this little spat, not of my making I might add, I do hope that your thread continue on subject and in the spirit that you intended.

"Supplied me with one"

Yeah at a small cost of 25k minus 7k for my Ref75 trade in. I guess he "supplied me with one" according to your definition. As the story went he got the first one in the USA and he asked me to burn it in because he had no room for it at the time. At first listen I knew it was special and PAID him for "supplying me" with it.

Then you went on your petulant all knowing tirade about WHY it couldn't be better than my Ref250s, Ref150 or Ref75 of course until HiFi Critic or HiFi + shut you up.

Do try and exercise a little self control Howie, and show some respect for the OP by remaining on topic, or by STFU! Either would suffice.

Guys, please stay on topic. Personal attacks are a no-no here.

Lee

Agree and someone just told me to STFU.

I posted here to relay my feelings about a review that was not very in depth or revealing about a DAC I have an interest in; as well as how it compares to those with other DACs I am interested in such as the DA2 and NADAC.

Some people replied with nicities, wisdom and experience to better explain the experience of the Rossini which is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately Harlequin felt differently.

Howie, I haven't heard the dCS in my home (any model) so I can't make a fair comparison. The NADAC fed by HQPlayer is very good. My guess is that is very neutral and that the dCS Rossini may have more body, but without having both in my system I couldn't know for sure.
