Sort of sad to watch that video.

Because I feel like Keith keeps rambling on and looking at his notes and losing his place and repeating the same things over again.

Of no concern. I have sat through talks by brilliant engineers that were just cringe worthy. Richard Vandersteen comes to mind. Fumbling through notes, mumbling,
losing train of thought. Not every genius has public speaking skills.

If Keith has always been like that, then it is of no concern.

He's not saying that vinyl has a dynamic range of >120dB again, is he?

He seems perfectly fine to me. Your being dramatic.

Nope. I'm not into drama one bit. I thought I have seen past interviews with Keith and didn't remember him speaking the way he did on that video. I could be mistaken. If Keith has always been one to read from notes and constantly repeat himself, it's all good. It was just an observation. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

"A direct recorded LP is a beautiful thing. The LP can capture information down to microinches - fractions of a microinch. And when you translate that to the dynamics of an event, it is about 120db or better. It's way up there."

I'll watch it today but I suspect the fault many be in the editing. Editing the mistakes, repeats, miss pronunciations. OK I just gave it a 1 minute view and saw that it's 58 ,minutes long. I bet that's the problem.

There is no editing.

It is perhaps appropriate to refer to the second of the TEN BAD LISTENING HABITS ;)

2. Criticizing the Speaker
It's the indoor sport of most bad listeners to find fault with the way a speaker looks, acts, and talks. Good listeners may make a few of the same criticisms but they quickly begin to pay attention to what is said, not how it is said. After a few minutes, good listeners become oblivious to the speaker's mannerisms or his/her faults in delivery. They know that the message is ten times as important as the clothing in which it comes garbed.

But I agree that only a very interested or devoted listener will go across 58 minutes of non edited audio!

I though this was a new video. This is from 2010..... and yes, he's saying vinyl is greater than 120dB.
