Somehow I haven’t been getting notices for this forum just recently, or I would have piped in earlier that my experience with SR fuses is that they take at least 250 hours to settle (with constant incoming power). That’s actually pretty good, as I find most gear takes around 300 or more.

Thanks much for the insight. They have had incoming power since I installed them. I've also kept the server playing because I figure it draws more current that way, maybe not but no harm. I know it's better than the stock fuse though I will swap them out again. Upon install it sounded really good though I could hear it still needed to burn-in. Day 2 it sounded much worse. Day 3 a little better than Day 2 but not as good as initial install. Day 4 a little better again, close to initial but not quite. Didn't listen yesterday, today will be Day 6. We'll see.
I've read everything from it needs 100 hrs to it needs 200-300. Ted Denney says 200-300 but the break-in is mild. Maybe break-in takes longer depending upon the piece of gear it's in.
That’s good for Denny, since most developers understate the time needed, usually by a lot. It really seems independent of the gear it’s in. I don’t know if drawing more current matters. With tubes, it’s just a matter of being on, so Lukasz of Lampi says, so that’s what I do and it seems to fall in that 300 hour range consistently.

The LDMS is often overlooked as the most underrated music server in the industry. For the money, you can not beat it. In my system, this component is slightly more important than my DAC. Actually someone already did this, comparing it to something like five other options including the Taiko.I think it's on this thread somewhere? The guiy who wrote it up ended up buying one and plugging it directly into his B&O Beolabs.

I just took delivery of an all in one box LDMS Mini-max server with every internal update Lucas recommended. All I can say is that it occupies an entirely different universe than the small green computer and top end Signature Rendu it replaced. I am running ROON with Lucas' improvements to the spdif and usb drivers. Lampizator Pacific 2 fully balanced using 4P1L outputs and C3G tubes as anode load with adapters. My fully balanced all DHT preamp and 300b monos.... The server has at most 100 hours of play and is still running in. Whoa..... I have not heard the Taiko or any of the other insanely expensive alternatives. I don't really think I need to....

I have had multiple LDMS, and you will be super happy with the performance and the customer service. Enjoy your music even more now!
Yes, Lucas and I have had numerous conversations. He approaches customer service the way I did when I was building amps commercially. He values the same things I do when building amps and preamps. Tone colours and textures of instruments and voices. You can hear it in the server...

Me too. I used to spend hours every day reading all of the audio sites. Now I am content with my endgame system, which means I am just enjoying the music. It also means I have saved myself around $75k. LOL
Troy Crowe and I did the Toronto Audiofest in Oct. with a wonderful system using his biggest horn speakers and the prototypes of the all dht balanced preamp and 300b monos that Lynn Olson and have been working on for a few years. We had the Genya DAC. We got a best of show award from enjoy the music... On Saturday there were people in the hall waiting to get into the room when it was busy. We only had about 15 seats. The weak link in the system was the Volumio streamer. I mean it sounded nice and all of that, and worked, but ... if we had this LDMS in front of that system, then people would have stayed in there for hours.....
I think people understand that streamers matter a lot, but many think that the $2500 streamer is plenty. I totally understand budgetary constraints. But if you can afford a relatively expensive streamer you should listen to the LDMS if possible. I have not heard the Taiko.... I would like to, but this LDMS is wonderful and less money. I bet it occupies a similar universe as the Taiko, and that is not the same one as the $2500-5000 streamers. My modded Signature Rendu was better than the Volumio at the show, but not the same universe as the LDMS....

Don , I agree on your thoughts of the LDMS . I have owned 2 and they are an incredible value with excellent support. By the way I’m enjoying my new Crowe 2800’s perfect fit for my room , Crowe is another excellent company to deal with
