I'm looking to visit the Los Angeles (L.A.) California Area.

I would like to know if there are any Audio Salons and Record Stores recommended to visit?

For Records, I'll visit Amoeba Music but would like to know of other locations worth checking out.

For Audio Salons, i don't currently have any recommendations.

Please share suggestions if willing.

Thanks,
Dre

There are several record stores I recommend. These are quality used record stores, not stores made up of new records.

Record Recycler - Torrance
Record Surplus - Los Angeles
PM Sounds - San Pedro
Boogie Maru Sounds - Torrance
Twelves - Long Beach
Finger Prints - Long Beach

Thanks Jeff.

This helpful list will give me a good framework to start with based on locations and ease of accessibility around the city.

What type of music are you looking for?
I listen too all kinds of music. I love to listen to Jazz, Blues, Folk, Soul/R&B, Plus half my collection is Classical.

I like to jokingly say "as long as it's not Polka, I'm in!" Although Strauss has a few very good Polkas.

However, I've crafted the playback system to try and reproduce all kinds of music in order to allow me to explore. That was/is at least the goal.

I'm looking for places to fill some down time while visiting family in addition to doing some record browsing/shopping and/or audio system listening.

Thanks for the additional information. This helps narrow things down for browsing/buying.

Much appreciated!

Thanks Lee.

I had already communicated with Maier Yesterday. I'll look into the other two locations.

For Hifi:
Common Wave HiFi in DTLA.
Shelley's Stereo in Woodland Hills

For Vinyl:

Amoeba probably has you covered in one stop, but there are boutiquier shops worth visiting. Among them:

Freakbeat Records in Sherman Oaks
Atomic Records in Magnolia Park (SFV)
CD Trader in Tarzana (Across Ventura Blvd. from Norm's Rare Guitars!)
Licorice Pizza in Studio City
Supervinyl in Hollywood

Have fun in L.A. with those of us who live here!

Thanks for the additional info on both topics.

I agree. Having fun with others and listening to music is a great idea.
