Gryphon Audio Announces First Turntable With Helmut Brinkmann!

Hi Guys has any one heard the siren phononstage by itself had a home audition ? I’ve been offered one at a really good deal but also have a mola mola lupe on order but could swap
The siren is 3 times the cost without the PSU but i think my commander pre am PSU on order has some extra power outlets that could be used to drive if ?

Is it available in the UK yet? I understood that you should be able to run the Siren from the Commander PSU a la Legato from Pandora?

I have auditioned the Commander and Siren (sharing one power supply) in my friend’s system. The Siren is certainly a considerable step up from the Legato phono, which I own. Blacker background, more power and authority! If I could afford it, I would certainly go for the Siren!

I've got a Legato and would love to move to a Siren, it must be quite a bit of kit! That said, I'd need a Commander first sadly... :)

Yes, it is interesting that the Commander’s PSU already has 2 extra transformers and circuits sitting unused and ready for the Siren! However, as I remember, the dealer had to make some adjustments to either the PSU or the Siren, before plugging the Siren in.

Hi Not sure if fully released but I have a commander and apex on order with an AMG turntable all arriving soon
I own mola mola tambaqui dac and have a mola mola lupe on order but my dealer says he can can get me an siren on good deal as
I’ve got the other 2 on order
It’s a real dilemma as the Lupe has amazing reviews and is 3 -4 times cheaper
I don’t need to kudos of owning gryphon as I will already have 3 imposing boxes will the stand art stands for everything so the siren will just be an addition and the money saved could pay for a lot more gear like network
Switches audiophiles RCBA/ sockets nerwork
Filters etc
Unless it’s significantly better that the mola mola

Obviously, I want to encourage you to go ahead and get the Siren as I'm really interested to hear some feedback from individuals. No idea how it compares to the mola mola, which seems to get very good reviews, but it would have to be very good given the price differential.

As you're in the UK and have just ordered a load of Gryphon equipment and an AMG turntable, Nintronics? Did you consider a Bergmann instead of the AMG?

Nope not Nintronics had booked to see them about the 333 but found another dealer closer to home
To Be honest I am not a vinyl guy ,never owned a record player and just bought my first 50 records some from the local record shop for a few quid. And some MOFI 45 RPM and UHQR’s and have stopped to see if it’s actually my thing once my systems set up
I just thought it would complete my system so I initially ordered a mitchel orb with their phono stage but my dealer swears by his AMG viella that he owns so I ordered one
I like the convenience of streaming and have A new MUI streamer With a tambaqui dac but have just also secured a Playback Design MPD8 ime going down the muon pro 2 filters / tempest Network switch route so I’m thinking money better invested here

But I think ill
Ask my dealer to set up an audition of the siren vs mola if gryphon want me to buy one they probaly need to let me listen to one

That's a pretty 'wow' my 'first vinyl setup' - I wasn't expecting you to say that! It'll sound great I'm sure, just don't skimp on the cartridge, but given the rest of your setup, I'm sure that won't be the case :D

Sounds like you've got a good mix of source material - it'll be an interesting experiment.

If you get or listen to the Siren, please feed back your thoughts.

BTW, i've no idea about digital, but IME a fancy network switch made no difference to my ears and is a total waste of money.

That’s the cartridge I’ve bought of my dealer he had 2 he has a friend who will set it up for me Benz ime told I found it funny an AMG turntable with a Benz cartridge

I fail to see what is the connection to Gryphon turntable here.

Just my 2 cents worth but for never been into vinyl and thinking of the Gryphon Siron....WOW! Since you don't know what other phono units sound like the Siren I'm sure will blow you away but there are soooooo many other phono units at far less $$$$$ that can do the same. I just took delivery of the Lupe yesterday so don't want to say how it compares to the 12 plus other phono units I've listened to. And to me, the 2 biggest and best analog purchases have been the MSL Sig Diamond cartridge and a matching Consolidated Audio SUT. Analog is a true journey, at least for me YMMV.
(Dealer disclaimer)
PS: Not a dealer for the Lupe
