Anyone have further info about whether Lamm is coming back? The website, FB etc has been dormant for a while now.

Also, are there any authorized repair locations?

They’re open. Call Elina. Send it back to Miami for repair. I just night a bunch of tubes from her

Unfortunately I've had no luck after multiple emails. The phone number is no longer working. This is so disappointing.

I had a really great tech that I use take a look and he was able to find and replace a couple parts that were out of spec but much of the issue still remains.

It's such a great sounding preamp. I'd hate to have to walk away from it. Even the tech, who compared compared and preferred it to both an ARC REF 3 and 5, was blow away the sweetness.

I spoke to Elina and she told me she was going to reach out to you. I will try again tomorrow for you

Which Lamm model do you have?

Hi Steve, I also have a Lamm preamp that needs repair. I could not get a hold of anyone in the office. I used to work with one of their engineers, Mikhail. I sent several few emails, but they haven't replied. Is their repair service back up and running? What's the best way to contact them. Thanks

I did get an email from her and some info from someone that's close to the situation. She's trying to set up a repair facility that would house the parts and service units. It's going to take a while. Just posted that I'm looking for recommendations for a replacement.... so tired of waiting.

Although the Lamm power amplifiers can be tricky to repair without the service indications, the preamplifiers are simple circuits, easy to service and the components can be sourced from good electronic component suppliers.

IMO a decent manufacturer that is no able to carry service should supply the service manuals - it is the minimum he can do to help customers.
Audio electronics is not rocket science.

Steve, you really need to convince Eliana at Lamm to name a few regional service centers in the USA, EU, and Asia. Have their lawyer write up and iron clad NDA to protect the schematics. This can be a new source of revenue for her, and she can continue to sell tubes to existing customers and the service centers.

Alan,
I replaced my Lamm preamp with an EMIA passive. If you have enough gain, the EMIA is a great alternative.

That doesn't look like it would be particularly challenging to repair. We've sorted some Lamm stuff out in the past; if you get desperate we'd be happy to help.
Thanks so much for the offer but I've had it at a couple places that have serviced Lamm before. They haven't been able to figure out the issue. I'm just going to get something new until Elina is set up for service, which I'm certain she'll be at some point next year.

What sort of problem are you experiencing?

Hissing unequally in both channels when unmuted. Goes away when mute selected. Doesn't change with volume. Have tried multiple sets of tubes and had the ones I use tested. I've popped the preamp into multiple systems. The level of the hiss varies depending on the sensitivity of the speakers but it's always there. I started to notice it a year ago but it didn't become intrusive until August. I have been doing a dance with Elina since then but it's over now. Her email is dead. It's a shame.

The LL2.1 uses one 12AU7 and one 6DJ8 per channel, does not invert phase and has a low output impedance. I would think about a topology similar to the old Audio Research SP8 - two triodes in series with a cathode follower.

The SP8 was known to have such problem - the 6DJ8 is prone to hiss. My original SP10 was a nightmare in this aspect, fortunately it was solved in the SP10 mk2 and I upgraded the circuit.

But I am just guessing!

If its in both channels it could be a regulator that is oscillating. That can happen just before the regulating transistor goes south entirely.
