Entreq Tellus grounding

If you get down to it, give it time for the mag fields to settle. Day, day n a half in my experience The sound will go thru cyclic changes before that, as you may have experienced with their ground boxes
Thank you! Did you ever compare the Cessaro sub to others? Most intrigued by those as well!

These play fast, deep n are musical. No credible feedback that I can offer on compares , sorry

This is the company blurb :-
"Protectus is comprised of layers of cross-laminated timber with cavities made in a strategic pattern that we fill with mixed metal spheres of various materials and sizes. These metal spheres effectively convert vibration energies into heat. Since all metals are connected, galvanic currents are generated, forming a magnetic field that affects the electromagnetic fields within the devices."

It's got a binding post ( Silver for Level 3) that attaches to the component. I have heard its effect even while not attached.

Sorry for asking annoying or inconvenient questions, but when I read marketing copy from manufacturers in this hobby about mysterious processes I become skeptical.

Do you happen to know -- I appreciate that you didn't write the marketing copy! -- if the metal spheres are all connected together? Is that what "since all metals are connected" means?

Does the binding post connect conductively to the metal balls in the slab?

I have been very impressed with the standalone subwoofers Ralph makes for his Opus system. I wonder if these are the same design?

I believe you are correct...if you open up the Receivus or Protectus, then the wires inside are connected to the ground then drain via the grounding wire to the grounding box.

I have no background in the science or physics of magnetic fields, so if you do, I will shut up.

I understand that upon initial component turn on magnetic field settlement can take a fraction of a second or a second or so. Apparently magnetic fields also can change over years and centuries.

I'm not seeing anything cognizable in science that indicates magnetic fields settle (which I assume means reach equilibrium) over a period of time like a day or two days.

Of course this is just another iteration of our endless subjective versus objective debate. If you say you hear a change over a day or two, I believe you.

Great to read your impressions, Jazzhead – I’m really happy to hear you’re enjoying Protectus.

Over time, I’ve become more and more convinced that vibrations are not the biggest issue in our systems. They do matter, of course – since vibrations can generate both current and magnetism – but in my experience, the real game-changer is magnetism and the magnetic fields themselves.

For those of you who’d like to understand more about how Protectus, Maxminx and Magneus work, I think these links explain it better than I can:

Magnetic fields are what carry the energy.
And as we all know, the power grid – and also our signal and speaker cables – are full of unwanted high-frequency noise. I was honestly shocked when I realized how much HF dirt was entering my system just through the network connection. I had assumed a good router, a solid switch, and quality cables would be enough. But the truth is: the network is a wide-open gateway for HF noise. And this noise travels with the magnetic fields.

By combining different paramagnetic, diamagnetic, and ferromagnetic materials, we shape local magnetic environments around cables and components. These tuned fields help mitigate and reduce the influence of high-frequency energy before it contaminates the system.

With our Ground Boxes and Eartha cables, we’ve always worked to drain HF noise out of the system. With Protectus, Magneus and Maxminx, the focus is on reducing it before it ever enters.

FYI. I have used AI for check the spelling.

Yes , similar to the Opus , these are the custom versions made for AE HKG.

Nor do I .....have stopped trying to figure out how these Entreq products work ! I have been a long time user and just go with what I hear , to be honest . Yes these metals are linked to each other from what I'm told, you can hear the difference when you place the gear on the platform , even greater when connected to the ground post behind . Appreciate the last bit , just providing feedback so that the good folk here can build up data points.

Thank you for explaining!

Getting excellent results grounding my Arya Audio Airblades to an Olympus Mini box seperate from the analog side of my system (Straingauge energizer, pre, monos, Zus subs) grounded to a Silver Tellus. In due course, I'll get another Olympus Mini for my CDP.
Definitely a step up in transparency and what I'd call "ease of presentation".
Only downside, further enhancing of the overall resolution of my system showing exactly which albums really are lacking in terms of clarity, tonality and fidelity.

Fascinating!

Ron, I'm like Jazzhead and don't understand the science behind the boxes I just know they have a very positive effect on my listening experience.
A good friend got me into Entreq years ago. At first I was very skeptical even though I'm fairly openminded. You should be warned, if you try Entreq in your system you will not want to ever remove it! I may sound like a shill but it's true. :)

Thanks guys.
Protectus, Magneus and our Ground Boxes aren’t rocket science – the basic ideas are actually pretty straightforward.

But… just like with baking, the magic isn’t only about flour, water and yeast.
A good baker never gives away the full recipe – not because it’s complicated, but because once it’s out there, anyone can copy it.

So we do the same. We share the results and the listening experiences, but we keep the “recipe” to ourselves.
After all, what matters most is how it sounds in the system – not the exact ingredients.
