Does anyone have any experience with the new Denali X? It has the Harp And TAPc technologies from the Everest X and will be made in Limited quantities. I think they will make them until the sheetmetal runs out. Then perhaps a new product follows?

A little more transparency from Shunyata on the "Limited Edition" aspect would be appreciated.

I think I heard maybe 100
This is my understanding too. They only have 100 Denali chassis remaining so once all are sold that will be it. Begs the question though of what is coming next.

Interesting. Anybody in these forums compare it to the Nordost QB 10? I’ve heard the latter and am considering it for one of my systems. I’ve never been able to audition any Shunyata products.

It just came out. It’s bundled with a Sigma XC for 9k and has most of the Everest technology ( though not all). Something will come next within a year or so I’d guess. Im told there will be a rack mounted Everest soon BTW.

Ok, I bite, curious what the cost of having X upgrades for my Denali 6000/s v2’s would be… Shunyata doesn’t list it/contact dealer, they say.

on my wish list: a component-level X-cell that brings the new tech to an individual piece of gear. A DAC for example. It would sit between a Shunyata power distributor and the power cable.

I would think there is a large market. Any current user who doesn't intend to sell what they have and buy an X version, could upgrade an important component. If the change was significant enough (could demo the X-cell on each component individually), then the full X version might make sense.

A bit disappointing as the current horizontal Denali v2+Typhon T2 setup could match the OG Everest, but Denali X+T2 won't get to the Everest X level. Well, at least I can afford the upgrade a lot more easily.

I did hear that an upgrade is available to current Denali v2 owners, which is what I will do. I'm a big fan of Shunyata's products and have a full Omega loom at the moment, but it is a pain that they release new generations frequently and don't really do an upgrade path for most of their stuff, that you have to sell your old gear and buy brand new. And even here, the upgrade is limited. I'm assuming for the Altaira X I've also got to buy it brand new and sell a now depreciated Altaira system. I'm tired of the work and cost of gear churn.

I missed it - did Shunyata themselves say that?

Keep in mind that the Typhon T2 hasn’t received the X treatment. Not sure if a T2-X is in the works, but that might be what’s needed to close the gap.

Bending Wave said that.

Would be nice if there is indeed a Typhon X.

I placed an order for the Denali X and Sigma-X XC power cable package yesterday. I was told that if I wanted to buy the store demo Denali 6000S v2, that I could update it to X level for US$2500. The deal available right now is quite a good deal. Expensive but still a good deal.

Later on I will be looking into adding Altaira to my system. The new Altaira X is a lot more money than the previous generation of Altaira. My dealer is going to talk to the folks at Shunyata headquarters and learn why the price increase is so steep for the Altaira X.

I’m hoping that the previous generation Altaira will still work with the Denali X.

It’s 2500 from V2 Denali to X
Altaira X is a new product and the X cables are also new. The original Altaira cores are still a current choice.
I have them all . I may sell the original ones since I can’t use both but it is a current product.
Altaira X is 8 completely isolated grounding modules and the X cable is some kind of special silver and uses platinum connectors ( I assume coated)
I am going to update my Denali then o can hear the difference if I don’t sell it first

Elliot;

That was quite helpful. Thank you!

Don

I spoke with Cassandra at Shunyata yesterday and she confirmed the cost of the upgrade is indeed $2500. One must go through a dealer so check with your favorite Shunyata dealer if you are contemplating the upgrade. Cassandra says that turn around time is about five days to include KPIP. Shipping costs are extra.
FWIW, if the upgrade does to the Denali what the new powercords (Thetas) did to my system, the upgrade will be a no-brainer.

The upgrade pricing to X seems fair and kind to me. Just pulled two RMA#s from Shunyata Research with the help of my local dealer. Off we go!!

That’s great! Let us know your thoughts on the upgrade once you’ve had time to burn them in.

I’m (not very patiently) waiting for my Denali X : )

Initially, the Denali v2s made a very respectable quieting on mains that I thought had little noise to begin with. The micro detail, micro dynamics, and effortless delivery were among the improvements. Quite surprising actually how it seemed to touched every aspect of the landscape. With X, hoping for more!

I received a call from my dealer today. Shunyata has sold out of the 100 units of Denali X, about 2-3 weeks ago from what he understood. It may have been even longer than that. I believe that they forgot to let dealers know that they no longer had any chassis’ in stock, until a couple or few orders had come in after they had run out.

Apparently Shunyata has been a bit surprised at how many orders they received for the Denali X and how quickly they received them. I was told that there were a few dealers that had orders placed after they ran out of the chassis’ for the Denali X.

So, I was quite disappointed that I couldn’t get a brand new Denali X. My dealer has agreed to sell me his demo Denali 6000 v2. We are going to send it back to the factory for the immediate upgrade. As well, Shunyata told my dealer that they couldn’t honour the same price for the Sigma-X XC power cord. I thought that they might do that as a nice gesture to a customer who placed an order for an item that Shunyata hadn’t told dealers, was sold out already.

My dealer is putting together a package for me that is going to be more expensive than the introductory deal price (for the same two items - after the upgrade has been completed), but was the very best that he could put together for me. He has cut his margins right down to help me get as close as possible to the original ‘deal price’.

I will end up with a Denali X after all and the Sigma-X XC power cable. I am very appreciative of his effort to put together items in order to help me out.

Definitely a first world problem! In the end it will take a bit longer to end up in my system, but I am sure that it will be great.
