Shunyata omega Ethernet cable

Well it’s known that the Tempus performs very well with the Muon Pro filter / streaming cable. So thus a comparison is highly recommended.

Hello,
I speak exceptionally because my English is really very bad (I'm French, maybe that's an explanation? :D ) but I love reading you and I learn a lot from your experience. The reason for my intervention, I am already a user of Shunyaya power cables (Sigma V2 range and new X) that I love and I would like to go up on the network cable part.
My current network setup from my Switch Melco S100/2 is an Entreq primer infinity network cable to a Muon pro filter to my streamer. I think the Entreq cable is my weakest link and I looked for benchmarks on the internet but I couldn't find anything, so I'd like to have your feedback, if you did, on the new Omega-X.
Thank you

I haven't heard the Omega-X yet, but I would assume that it's slightly better than the already excellent Omega. It will pair well with your power cables, and definitely won't sound bad!

Thank you for your feedback and your opinion on the omega. My only experience with Shunyata network cables is with the previous version, the Alpha, and it did not convince me. The Alpha NR V2 power cables didn't either, only the Sigma NR V2 have pleased my ears, even more so the Sigma X NR that I recently acquired, which is, in my humble opinion, even superior. Since I have never had the chance to try the Sigma network cables, I have no reference point. The Omega X represent a non-negligible amount, and I wouldn't want to make a mistake. However, I am very intrigued by Shunyata's announcements explaining that the biggest advancements in the Gamma X were made with digital cables. So maybe the difference is not subtle? That's why I would like to have concrete feedback, ideally with other high-level references in network cables.

I will say that the difference between Omega and Sigma was considerably bigger than Sigma vs stock ethernet.

Recently installed an Omega X USB cable between my streamer (Aurender N20) and DAC (Esoteric K01XD). Previously used the S/PDIF connection (Nordost Valhalla 2 digital cable BNC>BNC) between the N20 and K01XD, both master clocked with Cybershaft OP21A-D and Shunyata Sigma V2 clock cables. Wow was I surprised. Didn't think a single cable would have such a profoundly positive effect on the sound quality. The asynchronous Omega X USB smoked the previous rig (which was sounding very nice up to that point).

The Omega X USB connection was demonstrably quieter, more relaxed yet more dynamic and unfettered. Simply more musical and continuous. Very happy and somewhat overwhelmed with the outcome. All my sources (digital and analog) use Omega power cords and the network devices use Omega ethernet cables. This is my first experience with an Omega X digital cable but I would anticipate the other members of the Omega X cable line will perform better than their predecessors. YMMV, demo first.

Hi!
I'm picking up the cable tomorrow! I can't wait to see what it can do. I also know that there is a break-in period to consider, so we will have to be patient.
Has anyone among you connected the Omega or new Omega-X to a Muon pro?

Hello everyone,
A quick review after a month of using the Omega-X Ethernet cable. Let's get straight to the point: this cable is the best I've ever owned!
A little context. I previously had an Entreq network cable between my Melco Switch and my B.dpr (all in one Streamer + dac + B.Audio preamp) accompanied by a Muon pro. Admittedly, the small Entreq cable is a small cable compared to the Omega-X but the combo with the Muon pro was very efficient. Moreover, if I compare this combo without changing anything in my system, with the Omega-X we have « practically » the same results. At this point one might be quick to conclude that the operation is not very interesting, but I said « pratically » ;) Indeed, there is a second effect brought by this cable. Its ability to isolate noise is quite fantastic. Let me explain. I had two Entreq Ten T groundboxes on my machines, I couldn't do without them because they acted very effectively on the noise, opened up the space, made the bass better etc. Following the installation of the Omega I tried to remove them... I didn't believe it but this cable is so advanced that it makes the groundboxes useless! So I have 2 groundboxes to sell, lol. On the other hand, I'm keeping my Muon pro, even if it doesn't add anything by adding it after the Omega-X, placed before the switch, on the operator box side, it acts like a switch bridge and further improves this result. You know what! l’m happy ;)

Hello, I have a question of choice. I want to buy two ethernet cables. One from the provider's router to the main router, the second (pre-top or top) to the streamer (Auralic aries g2.2). Now in my region, there are two cables on sale that I can connect from the provider's modem to my main router. One cable is audioquest Diamond in the latest version and shunyata Sigma in the first version. There is no way to listen to them. Now I have dq vodka, they let me listen to it and I really like how it raises the middle of the voice. I would be grateful for advice and recommendations. I plan to take the main cable shunyata Sigma-X or Omega-X, then it will be possible to order and not earlier than winter. It will be on order.

Yes, I just received the Omega-X Ethernet cable yesterday and placed it between the Muon Pro and the Taiko I/O (Olympus). I am not sure how long it will take for the Omega-X to break-in but I can say that with 8 hours on the cable it added more of what the NA Muon Pro brings to the table. A step up in detail and transparency with none of the downsides that you can get with too much detail. That is spatial cues of ambience and decay have improved but no glare, etch or grain. A very relaxed listening experience that you do not want to end.

Early days right now but so far, I am impressed with this combination of the NA Muon Pro and Omega-X. Perhaps as it rightly should given the $6k price tag.

One other comment is that I will be experimenting (after break-in) where to place both the NA Muon Pro and the Omega-X in my digital network. At this time the reduction of noise that these 2 pieces provide is very impressive. More to come.

Yes trying out the best position of the Muon Pro can be revealing. Also interesting to know that there will be soon a new Muon Pro 2 streaming cable which I heard is a massive improvement over their current one.

In a exchange of emails with Rob, he did mention that there will be a new reference product being offered by NA, I was not aware that it may be a cable for streaming purposes. Whatever it may be I look forward to the introduction as they (NA) have clearly shown the ability to improve our digital network.

Great to hear your in exchange with NA. Ya it will be the new steaming system, which consists of two components people can choose (like with their Muon Pro now), a filter and a Ethernet/streaming cable. Also very much looking forward to it.

A “streaking” cable , oh my
