Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

Very difficult process to predict with final results...Similar as reactionary dyes or acid etching which is part of the anodizing process...

Anyone who understands production realizes changing such a big aspect mid stream (in the middle of a roll out) is just not a prudent direction to take...No doubt Taiko and Emile understand this...
I guess I don’t understand…

If, for instance, there were 100 remaining Olympus chassis’s remaining to be cnc’d to fulfill orders…

Wouldn’t it simply be a matter of customers changing the color on their order before anodizing?

Not Black Vs Silver Wil. People were mentioning powder coating and other types of finishing...Emile is all for changing from silver to Black as to alleviate the PITA silver anodizing that he is dealing with...

Right, changing to another finishing method, midstream other than anodizing would not be a good idea!

Yes, those are at 95%, if all orders were black we probably would’ve finished shipping everything some time ago.
Emile, could you send a good quality picture of the Olympus server in black?

Many audiophiles prefer the look of black components. Many audiophiles prefer the look of silver components. I think it's nice when manufacturers offer those two color options.

(Or make it simple, and offer only silver. :p)

Any color you like, as long as it’s black.
- Henry Ford

I think he was referring to Olympus. ;) A man ahead of his time.

Did you try to contact Rumen Artarski of Thrax Audio fame from Bulgaria? I have heard nothing, but good things about his CNC work and anodizing. You can send him a CAD file and have a full case made andotized to any color you like. He does all the metalwork for his products and many major european brands like Vitus Audio.

Starting planning for an Olympus (USB+Analog) listening session in San Diego first part of December (I'm tentatively thinking Saturday 12/7 or Saturday 12/14).

My geek cave is decidedly more pedestrian than Steve's wonderful listening room, but I should still have my Extreme on hand then, so we'll be able to have relative comparisons between Extreme USB vs Olympus USB, and Olympus USB vs Olympus XDMI Analog (and for fun, various permutations of the Taiko network stack if of interest)

If you have interest (or potential interest), please drop a direct message to me and I'll send a note when details when finalized.

Whether it needs it or not, has anyone tried their QSA fuse in the Olympus?

hmm. no update here or on website in quite awhile.
we all know taiko is grinding along, doing there best.

just tell us if we should not expect any updates here or on the Olympus website tracker re: order numbers. no big deal either way.

we all just trying to anticipate best we can how to coordinate our systems physically and of course financially coupled with the increased uncertainty about tariffs, noise etc.

Hi @ctydwn , we posted several updates last Thursday, starting with this one, you may have missed it:
