for $13k. Based on recommendations from this forum. I'll never purchase outside the US. Ever!

Within the next few days.

I certainly hope it's not true and wish you the best on this.

But I want to make sure I have this correct:

- You post the name of a business and claim they may have ripped you off;
- You provide no details or evidence of said serious claim;
- You blame the people on this forum for you doing business with them;
- And then when asked for details regarding your claim the business acting fraudulently/illegally you won't.

I'm sorry, but if what you say is NOT true and provable, then they should consider going after damages / defamation / slander.

I don't know if it's relevant, but when I google Ajasom in Portugal, I find ajasom.net but am advised by Google:
"Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.ajasom.net (for example, passwords, messages or credit cards). Learn more about this warning"

I concur with @Synaxis. I did a search of Ajasom on this forum and I can only see some references back from 2017 & 2021. That's a long time ago. That said, I'd like to keep an open mind and see what OP has to say about the situation.
With all that said, in general, if I were to live in the USA, I would try my very very best to get a US dealer for a product that I want. Sure, it's not a guarantee for quality if you go to your country's local dealer/distributor for the product that you want but it generally does prevent hassles that you don't want to deal with.

I have no idea whether you have been ripped off or not but I hope you are not blaming people in this forum for doing business with Ajasom. That would be silly.

I have purchased from Ajasom before and they have a couple of excellent demo rooms with plenty of nice equipment and they seem knowledgeable and helpful. They have also been around for quite a few years.

There is clearly something wrong with the website. Let us hope there is nothing more sinister than website problems.

Nope. As I said in my first reply, I'll know in a few days. Ajasom.net is no longer active and is for sale.

I'll report later. If everything works out, I'll state that. Outside of WBF, no one knows.

Pinhead where have you been. I missed you.

I spoke to them. They are changing server and say that they remain open for business. I have no idea when their site will be working again.

Have you tried calling them?

I am not affiliated with them and have no idea whether you are being ripped off or not. I note that you haven't provided any details except the serious insinuation..

Dear Tabl10s, I am an Ajasom employee and I can assure you that the company is safe and well.

Unfortunately your purchase coincided with the change of server on our website and as such we do not have an email or website. As you can understand, this is a situation that we are unhappy with and that creates enormous inconvenience but that is beyond our control, and we hope to have this issue resolved as soon as possible.

The shipment of your equipment is underway, for more details you can speak to Raquel Almeida who is aware of the process and as far as I know has provided all the information you request by phone.

Wow - talk about possible serious legal jeopardy for Tabl10s.

Unless he can provide proof he just slandered and damaged a business to its core audience by making his initial post and not backing it up.

THAT's going to be legally expensive for him unless there is some serious proof provided of illegal activity by Ajasom In Portugal.

And now that there are screen shots and everything of what he's done/claimed/stated a simple retraction/deletion won't satisfy his liability for damages.

This could get VERY expensive quickly for him beyond his claimed $13,000......

I'm all for holding companies accountable. I'm also all for holding people whose malicious and capricious actions unfairly damage a business. Let's see which of these two parties is the right one in this instance.

Regardless this is not going to end well for one of them.

In principal I agree and this is the danger of Social Media and Forums. That one can go off half cocked and cause some irreparable damage.
Now the reality is with this business transaction taking place in two different countries it is highly unlikely any litigation will result. @Tabl10s reputation will take a hit here in these forums for being well Chicken Little....

Agreed.

But it's very simple to hire a lawyer in a local country to send a demand letter under threat of trial. We used to do it in the corporate world all the time.

Even small claims (some as high as $20k is allowed) is an avenue where they could higher a lawyer for $1,500 all-in to send demand letter, file, and have the hearing in court.

If defendant is no-show it's very easy for an extra $500 to have liens and garnishments against him for the default judgment.

If I were the business owner, and what the OP posted is false, I would spend that $1,500 in a heart beat.

If what the OP says is true, then he needs to back it up with facts to both protect himself, and hold the dealer accountable and I wholeheartedly will support the OP trying to recoup his money.

I have no side in this thread. Only that after 30 years in business in the corporate world we've dealt with people who make demonstrably false claims and how easy it is to hold them financially accountable.

I get it, and maybe that works for some. Me I would throw the letter away with all the rest of the junk mail. This is one of the problems with America, if you are one no offence LAWYERS.

In my line of work I deal with our legal team on occasion when we decertify a distributor for violating our terms of sale and distribution. They always threaten legal action and it makes me laugh. 15 years in my current role and not one lawsuit. Have clown pulling this now and he never even signed the distributor agreement and has zero legal standing.

The OP got what he wanted and that was seller resolving the issue. The seller should have reached out to any customers with open orders knowing that his E-COMM and email were down.

This was not handled in a professionally be either party and only lawyers win when you file a lawsuit.

Totally agree.

I was proud of my reputation though as the guy when he threatened legal he followed through on it.

I would say in this instance if what the OP said is NOT true and NOT provable the company at the very least needs to wage a PR war against the OP and publicly shame him and his full legal name to warn other dealers to not work with him.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander, no?
