Well, I can't say for sure about David's new beast but I have helped move turntables with heavy platters before. there are usually threaded inserts in the platter to attach handles for lifting and lowering. Even with the handles, it's a two to 3 person job as you need the brwan and you may also need someone to guide the spindle into the bearing depending on how they are arranged. No stabbing at the hole with a heavy platter and finely machined spindle!! Depending on available space you could even consider suing something like a small engine lift or similar to support either or both pieces.

an engine lift is a good idea for future reference.

This is a patient lifter, used in hospital to move patients around, battery powered and can lift several hundred pounds, around $1000. Very handy, this may be what you need.

As an owner of an incredibly heavy turntable all I can say is have a lot of music lovers help you....and....serve drinks AFTER the tables set up.

I have a friend who is an audio reviewer...he has a simple rule when it comes to what he will review... if he cannot personally lift the gear...he won’t review it...Period!
Personally, I think he has a lot of merit in this...owning and having owned gear that is a bear to move around. Plus, we are not even talking about the cost and complexity of shipping said gear.

Anyone taking ownership of one of these beasties considering running an air bearing linear tracking arm on it? With that fantastic air suspension and bearing, the AS is crying out for an air arm too.
