Fantastic, thanks for sharing. Have you been able to compare the TAD cd with any others?

A friend and I spent well over a year testing, measuring and listening to lots og driver/ horn comboes. Jbl 2446 with std, aquaplas and truextent dias. Radian 950 with std and te, emilar, bms 4592nd..jbl D2 2450sl.kugelwellen, iwata incl big cnc 300hz plywood version, jmlc 200T 270 350 1000 1400 and loads more. For me it all started with changing drivers in Avantgarde trio, but ended up with a lot of expensive plastic in a magnetic frame

JBL were the ones I was most curious about. The measurements on Martin Seddon's site are impressive. Le Cleac'h horns are really wonderful, I was thinking about using either 270 or 340, I will probably try TAD, JBL and maybe Radian be diaphragm.

TAD4001 in my subjective world is better at harmonics. Maybe Vitavox S2 too but since 1,5 exit havent tried. Next is 2446 with truextent.Autotech JMLC are fab with no horn colorations or honk. Just dont push beyond 3 octaves. That goes for all horns
Best

Quiet mode and Sony Xperia waterproof tablet doubles as chart computer in ABinflatables aluminium RIB

i love twilight on the water.

my son, 'the network engineer', has redone all the electronics on his boat, including his chart plotter, auto-pilot etc. and has an i-pad and i-phone extension for it including the AIS information. he has a radar dome but has not yet installed it.

very cool that he can identify and see details, headings, and speed of larger ship traffic and they can see him. when we headed out at 3am in the shipping channel it was no problem.

a far cry from when i had my own sailboat in the 80's......

Yes marine electronics have taken off completely
The ais traffic has gone totally bonkers off the Norwegian coast and they have to limit it because it disturbs the surveillance of th traffic in the offshore oil installations
