Cartridge - headshell for the Bokrand tonearm

Hello,

For Bokrand tonearm owners, what cartridge and headshell combination are you using with it?

Cheers,
Sorry off topic but you understand if you have/had one. There are vey few things that I regret not keeping, my red Shamal is at the top of that list!

A 1994 garaged for eleven years in my home in Rapallo and a hand grenade ['85 Biturbo E] here. No ABS brakes, no power steering, no electric seats, no smog system and no cats, absolute freedom!!!

Cheers,

Horacio

I bought a set of Audio Technica LH headshells (I think they retail for $89). Available in several weights so I can usually get any cartridge to work reasonably well on the Bokrand.

I bought my Bokrand specifically for an Ortofon SPU. I'm using a Classic GE MKII that really sings with this arm, so I'm looking to try a Royal G if I can find a few grand somewhere...lenco.jpg

That’s the exact combination I will use. Got my Bokrand tonearm and waiting for the SPU. Need to add a SUT and was wondering which one are you using?

Nice!! How’s that combo with Bokrand work for you?
Very well indeed. I believe the Bokrand has a higher mass than the 3012/II that I used before. The bass is more extended and sounded more impactful. Distortion is lower, esp. at the end of side. Very happy with it.

I ordered a DaVa wired arm from Alfred last weekend
will try and compare with the Groovemaster
think the AB arm should fit in the VTA lift, so I just need to swing out the armboard a little to realign from 304,75 to 309mm pivot-spindle distance

I also went with wired version. Which pickup will grace your Bokrand?

Thanks, wasn't aware of that particular cartridge.

it is a direct sale cartridge from the manufacturer in Lithuania, has a one year queue, plus he isn’t taking orders till May 2023 to clear the backlog. It is 3k for the basic and 6.5k euro for the reference plus 1500 for the tube PSU power supply.

some feedback here, thread started in 2020 and developed since

After my Garrard 301 project, am kinda a burned out when it comes to one man shops but always intrigued to learn more about exotic gear. That looks very cool. Thanks for the info, I will definitely read the posted threads.

I had shitty experience with Garrard 301 and UK 1 man shop too....

The Garrard 301 I bought from Audo Grail and was most pleasant experience. Matt is a fantastic guy. It's the maker of the plinth that has made my Garrard journey bittersweet
