Albums You Always Listen To Front To Back?

A simple question I think. What albums demand to be played through? At least a 'side' or preferably a complete album. Kind of Blue, many of Pink Floyd's albums, Joni Mitchel's Hejira come to mind for me.

I usually listen to the entirety of an album. But "A Love Supreme" always demands my full attention...

it's 32 minutes so it qualifies as a whole album.

'Bowie's Glastonbury 2000', six sides that always draw me in. Be a lie to say I listen to six sides everytime but the majority of the time would be accurate. I like this LP set enough that I refuse to play them often for fear I will wear off the shear enjoyment.

They need time specifically set aside, the first drink pre poured, lights dimed. . . . . Oh this may happen tonight

I always listen to the complete album, out of respect to the artist, and often my preferences have changed over time. Listeners that play playlist of favorites are sometimes missing the cohesiveness and artistic intent of an album.

@ptman, I’m totally wit you on the Beatles records. I’d probably throw the White Album, and Rubber Soul in there too; even though they weren’t “conceptualized as such.... Ironically, I find myself in the same frame of mind when I’m listening to many of the great classical symphonic works - go figure, lol!

Listening to recordings front-to-back are likely more prevalent among those of us whose stereo listening developed in the pre-CD days. With a couple of exceptions, the albums cited in this thread are older, put-the-album on the turntable gems where when the album was placed on the turntable, it was assumed we were in for the full album, in the order that the artist/producer intended.

I'd also like to add multiple Pink Floyd to the list: Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall.
