13 Types of Audiophiles

How about the audiophile types that can talk and or post about meaningless topics for hours on end. :D
 

Nice thread. I think we all fluctuate between the various subtypes. Also, different sites tend to attract more of one subtype versus another, and we often become fatigued with said site and start or frequent new sites like this one.

There should to be a subtype for "guru." I see this most frequently on Audiogon in the context of the system threads where a phile with a SOTA system dispenses wisdom to his congregation....

Never mind meaningless topics, how about meaningless posts period? Like every post they ever post is full of fluff, peace, love, and happiness with a great big hug and shout-out to the closet tree.

The amount of money spent on a room and system buys instant credibility with lots of folks who have lesser rooms and systems. There are plenty of sheep who want to be led, even if it's a trail that is too steep for them.
