    New reference

Is this a bi-amp system? Those woofer magnets don't look small. Would guess that's a boatload of back EMF to deal with on a single amp.

Videos - oomph, tympani, menace, power

A bit lead footed on the volume but absolutely clean for 60W into 8 ohms 87dB?

    Rock and Drum videos thread

Hey gents - I appreciate the comments, it feels good having positive feedback reinforce my sentiment I think I’m heading in the right direction. @Rob181 – This is a fair question I’ve felt I‘ve owed to the forum so I’ll list the gear soon on my page just so that I don’t completely derail the...

    Wilson Audio Submerge Subwoofer

That spec almost got me too. It's the frequency response of the amplifier only.

What are you doing about EMI/RFI?

Ben Franklin should've started with that.

Zellaton: The End of My Speaker Journey

This configuration reminds me of early Egglestonworks Andra model dual 6" midrange cabinet construction. I would assume the surface area depends on how flow restrictive the material is with the more flow restrictive material requiring smaller venting area. There would also be associated costs...

Zellaton: The End of My Speaker Journey

May also be some form of aperiodic damping enclosure to lower speaker "Q" for given box size. Visually there does seem to be some open cell foam or some sort of air flow restrictive material on the backside.

Not the best recording but I love how Dawn Upshaw's voice beams through the ether.

    Ron’s New System

Geez, with what is usually a good source of entertainment, I can usually follow the story line. Now even I'm getting confused between facetiousness or the normal forum cordial love/hate relationship.

    Natural Sound

To add, most cellphone MEMS microphones frequency response start to drop off around 50Hz so I tend to find the lowest bottom end of cellphone videos tend to be lacking.

    Videos of Acoustically-Coupled Audio Recordings

Thank you for the compliments. Yes, there’s quite a bit of background noise in the recording. The first ½ second of the video is the background noise in my room plus low level cellphone prior to actually playing the track. Using a custom Windows 10 server with Tidal playback, a modified...

I suppose maybe the signal input electronics that modulate the audio signal to the plasma arc. Hard to tell without viewing schematics.

    Ron’s New System

"*Flemming's and Gary's differing design philosophy and implementation of the BG RD75 driver always has been of great interest to me." Guessing the lower crossover has to do with the larger heavier mass aluminum Genesis woofers to the BG's for a more seamless driver integration.

What are you doing about EMI/RFI?

I'm no expert so someone please feel free to speak up if I'm out of line. has any of these mods been tested by non listening methods ? - Personally by me? No, this was a trial an error done by pure listening experimentation methods. less noise can be rolled off highs - Yes, this can be the...

What are you doing about EMI/RFI?

You can purchase on Amazon. Just search for "mix 31 ferrite" and verify that the one you choose is mix 31. This ferrite blend suppresses a wider range of frequencies than typical ferrite mixes. The one I posted has 1/2" diameter but the come in a variety of sizes...

Building a world-class Horn system for Small Rooms

Did something similar years ago with walnut plywood I had sitting around. Very time consuming and I could imagine in a production environment as you said, very costly.

    Rock and Drum videos thread

Same page. Not disagreeing about fundamentals, laws are laws period. More so about what are we trying to accomplish here? Is it just simply remove all unwanted mechanical energies from the system(this includes the environment) at all costs or settle on some sort of compromise between...
