Harvest Moon over the Hudson River

Is that the view from your home ? lovely photo.

Yep, as Mep knows from first hand experience here, I am a shitty photographer, much as I love really old photographs. I decided that one thing I have to do is learn how to 'take pictures' and buy a decent camera. You are an avid photographer, right Christian?

Thanks. It is not easy...you have literally a split second to take the shot you want before the bird moves in most cases.

So, at some point, you should do some photo-porno of your gear.*
Not necessarily of the system, but the 'money shots' of aspects of the gear.
I have an old point and shoot digital camera that is bettered by my iPhone 5. So you can tell I am bereft of a good camera. That's a whole other discussion. Been talking a little with Albert re cameras. I don't want a big heavy DSLR with a lot of **** to schlep- I'm digging that little Fuji 100S but I gather that a fixed focal length may be problematic if I want to shoot stuff like matrix numbers on records....

*I am referring to your audio gear, just so Mep doesn't think I'm in the gutter here.

Yes, photos of reel to reel decks would hit the spot!

.... if I want to shoot stuff like matrix numbers on records....

heh, heh.....me thinks Bill has found a new passion!:D

Pretty pathetic, huh.... :)

Not at all. In fact I need to do that as many times I can't read the matrixes. Additionally, there are the odd/weird symbols as well that are kinda difficult to describe in words.

Sorry for the OT....

Not OT. I am getting interested in photography now behind the camera, rather than just as a collector of old photos.
