2X DSD streaming from my server thru the Playback Designs MPS-5......WOW!!!

Anyone else tried using Korg Audiogate or other software to convert pcm to dsd and then playing back through a Playback Designs DAC with an improvement? The PD seems to shine on DSD playback, so this seems promising. Curious to hear if anyone else has had a good result specifically with the PD DAC before I flip for the price of a Korg unit. Thanks.

The only PCM -> DSD SRC I've heard and liked is the apodizing filter used in Pyramix.

Bruce,

What sounds better : a 24/96 or 24/172 PCM download played through the MPS-5 or the same recording after being converted to DSD in the Pyramix played through the same DAC?

I feel DSD files played back through the MPS-5 sound better than PCM files.

Hi,
I think Playback Designs players convert automatically PCM in DSD, no ?
so no need to convert PCM files in DSD files before ... (tell me if I'm wrong !)

I feel DSD is its strength. Even PCM files converted to DSD sound better than going straight in.
