Same here, except Elli doesn't attend shows with me because I'm always working at shows and someone has to mind the kitty. If you've seen my living room photos, you know I'm a lucky man too. :D

I met Elli in the early 1980s when she was a student at my recording studio's recording classes, so she appreciates good sound and doesn't mind all the "trappings" in our living room. She bought the very first commercial CD player when it came out, a Sony, and we used her then-expensive McIntosh speakers here for years here until I upgraded to a surround system.

--- Ethan, you did no post since then (June 8)! Elli, did she have anything to do with it? :b

Bests,
Bob

---I was simply curious as to why since June 8th we didn't hear from you, that's all. :b

And I am sure that Elli (your wife) has her own things to attend to; I was simply trying to stay on-topic (W.A.F.). :b

* You see Ethan, I care a great deal about all the people I met in life; and even on Audio forums.
Without good & escalating communication among all of us, we simply don't mean much.
That's what Best truly mean; keep the flame (audio light) improving, always. :b

Bests,
Bob

I compromised with my wife. I divorced her 31 years ago. My girlfriend of 25 years has been much more to my liking. Neither of us are interested in the contract of marriage, and we have done very well managing our lives together. She likes good music, but doesn't give a hoot about the gear. She won't even touch it, even with encouragement. With a sound system in the living room, and a second sound system in my studio, I can always find a place to enjoy music no matter what she chooses to do. She is a huge TV watcher, and I am not. I have accomadated her with big Sony XBR widescreen, satellite receiver, Oppo Blu-ray, and Roku. She's happy, and I am happy, too.

---Dan, your girlfriend, does she work (has a job)?

I ask because you just said; "I have accomodated her with big Sony XBR widescreen, satellite receiver, Oppo Blu-ray, and Roku." :b ...Very sweet of you.

Bob.......Yes she does work, but not because she has to. The additional income allows her to enjoy things she might not otherwise be able to afford. She has a horse (Gus) to feed and care for, too.

I do my best to make sure she is happy, and she does the same for me. That's how we roll.

---Sweet pictures Dan; I love horses too. :b

Bob.......Gus is an eight year old registered American Quarter Horse. His registered name is Corporate Impression, but we have always called him Gus. He has it made in the shade, and Marlene sure loves him.

---Cool!

* Marlene, your wife, she has a French name. ...I used to go with a girlfriend for three years (from 1976 to 1979), and her name was also Marlene; she was French Canadian (Alma, Lac St-Jean, Quebec).
...She was big time into Dancing and Travelling (we did a lot of that, among other 'trings').

Right now I live next to a Ranch where they teach young people how to ride horses, and jump.
There are many ranches like this in my area (a paradise for horses among other animals; birds, eagles, hawks, howls, sheep, cattle, rabbits, whales, chestnuts, wine, flowers, etc.).
Anyway, that ranch is right across my left front view, so I can enjoy the most beautiful looking horses every single day.

I am a happy man from my surroundings, and good friends.
Plus all the things I learned in life. And music saved my life once or twice.

I am no longer married, so I am totally free (have few girlfriends but they aren't living under the same roof as I).

Nice getting to know you better Dan. :b

The ultimate trade for a dedicated listening room.......

A walk-in closet for her. You might have to keep your clothes and change in the garage, but hey, a guys gotta do what a guy's gotta do right? LOL.

If we could afford it, I think an episode of Two and a Half Men put this in its proper perspective. When his (Charlie Sheen) girlfriend moved in with him he sublet her old apartment. He continued to do all his .favorite things there

The ideal Wife loves your speakers so much, she hugs them, on a regular basis:

This is why us electrostatic guys are always, well, XStatic ;)

That picture is a true test for the WAF!

Doesn't anyone get mad when girls leave wet spots on their Sound Labs?
