There's a couple of eBay sellers who are outbidding everyone for the remaining Classic Records stock and then turning around and selling them for at least 2X the price paid on their eBay site. That's BS.

Have they done this for long?

I suppose if they are outbidding everyone, they will have a hard time re-selling them for double what they paid.

So what have they done wrong?

You really don't see anything wrong with this?

Let me ask you. Suppose you were waiting in line at a record or CD sale and a dealer in line at the front of the line was holding spaces for his buddies so they could get in first to skim off all the good stuff before you got in. So they could turn around and resell the software. Same thing except done in the virtual world.

Bottom line is these auctions are meant for consumers, not dealers trying to corner the market.

It's been going on for a while but has gotten worse recently. I think in some cases they're bidding for other friends and customers.

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't like it but when you say "these auctions are meant for consumers", what do you mean?
Are dealers not allowed to bid, and if they aren't why isn't someone stopping them?
If they are allowed to bid, then they are allowed to bid no matter how much you or I dislike it

Do you mean eBay buyers selling stuff they buy for much more ? What sellers are you talking about ? I have seen test pressings back on the block that were sold by theMusic for example and then put back up on the block for much more.

Exactly! Lacquers, Clarity, test pressings, unreleased albums. Don't understand the lacquers. Thought you were buying them all? :)

One for example is this person who goes by Doronca.

Myles, I get it but this is the real world not Hobbiton in the Shire.

I have tried for some of the classical lacquers, but as you say, some people are paying exorbitant amounts. A 45 rpm lacquer box of the Royal Opera went upwards of $1200.00 recently. Jazz lacquers are easier to get price wise. I have been kicking ass on Everest unreleased 45 rpm test pressings as of late. I will pay for them...if you know what I mean. They sound great.

I like to be a bottom feeder :) Mark knows one of the jazz gems I came up with for $9.99 :)

Mike still sells OOP, still sealed classic vinyl at the Los Feliz store. nothing esoteric like lacquers/test pressings but they put out new stuff all the time. I was there last week 33s are $26 and 45s are $33. they have a point system, the more you purchase the greater the discount, I always grab 10+ LPs when i'm there the discounts usually cover the sales tax. as for their ebay listings - pure capitalism.

Myles came up with a lot of good LPs at the record store we went to in Denver while we were at RMAF 2013 including some cool ones he found for me.
