Apart from a cartridge... I had to post this http://www.elusivedisc.com/Bobs-Dev..._120-Switchable-Gain/productinfo/BOBCM1131R2/

I see Bob every year at RMAF where he always sets up where they sell LPs. He always brings a really good rig to the shows to listen to his trafo step up devices (SUTs). Bob is also a cool guy to talk to.

Who's this Bob?

I think it's the guy who manufacturers and sells the step up transformers that you have shown a picture of. I just dug his business card out of my wallet. His name is Bob Sattin.

Never heard of him or his products

Tiniest audio device? Not even close!
Just look at a modern hearing aid, it has:
1] a mic
2] a mic pre-amp
3] a DSP chip
4] a Class-D amp
5] a wireless connection to the other ear
6] a computer port for programing
7] maybe a wireless connection to other devices

Peter-you're the guy who started this thread! You posted a picture of one of his SUTs. He has a bunch of different ones at all price ranges.

I have to agree with Speedskater, the in the canal hearing aids are the smallest audio devices.

You forgot the most important part: THE SPEAKER/transducer!
