My 1st Stereophile magazine was Vol. 12 No. 1 Jan 1989.

My 1st The Absolute Sound magazine was Vol. 17 Issue 80 Jun 1992.

I had collected and saved every issue since. Well today I have packed them all up to meet the recycling center tomorrow. WOW these thing are heavy! It's funny glancing through some of these issues and seeing "state of the art" gear . Quite a few articles saying things like this is the last amp you will ever buy.

Remember the size of the early edition magazines? I remember people complaining about changing the size to the larger size magazines.

Unfortunately this is on my county library page:

The Library does NOT accept the following items:
  1. Newspapers
  2. Magazines
  3. Encyclopedias
  4. VHS tapes
  5. Music CDs
  6. Textbooks
I guess times have changed......

I think it will be easy to get someone who pays you the shipping and packing costs of these magazines. If it was local, I have a few friends who always are eager to get old audio magazines. Complete sequential collections of TAS or Stereophile can even have some value.

I only keep the TAS issues 1-180 and some selected magazines, such as the Fi collection and those with nostalgic value, like the original Hifi News of the then revolutionary Quad ESL63.
