Steven Wilson "The Overview" Tour. September 14, 2025, Paramount Theater, Denver, Colorado. Terrific set list that covered songs from Porcupine Tree and Steve's deep solo career, (Insurgentes, The Raven That Refused to Sing, Hand.Cannot.Erase, The Harmony Codex and more, set list here) ably performed by Steven on vocals, guitars, keyboards, sequencers, with Nick Beggs on bass and Chapman Stick, Adam Holzman on keyboards, Craig Blundell on drums, and Randy McStine on guitar and backing vocals. If you are a fan, don't miss this tour.

We saw the tour in San Fran, which I believe was the first US show. Wife and I have seen Steven Wilson mainly in Seattle every time he has come, she calls him "barefoot guy"....

I have to be honest, I was just so-so with the setlist. I found the first 45 min with playing the Overview rather boring and disinterested, I think the album just does not play well live. I do like spinning the album....The visuals were excellent I have to say and what was making up for some of my issues is that the musicians are stellar performers. I'm a huge Beggs fan, Blundell was on fire that night. I've seen him before and at times he was too robotic, but not that night. We've seen Randy McStine several times opening up for The Pineapple Thief in Seattle and he is brilliant, we really enjoy his playing. That being said Steven Wilson is an ok guitarist, even he knows that LOL. We were sitting 5th row to the left so getting more of Beggs and Blundell

The rest of the show was better but songs from The Future Bites are too electronic/EDM style and not enough dynamics, I would have liked more music from The Raven (I saw some shows got Luminol, which is awesome track). We saw him on the GFD tour and he previewed that track for us, it was awesome. The one track that they killed it on was Dislocated Day, that extended jam session was killer, that was our fav track of the night. My wife loves Ninet, so having her on screen with Pariah was very cool.
Overall, it was ok but for me the setlist was lacking songs that could have been killer with the band he had this go around. I do agree, if people like this style of music it is a tour that should not be missed.

Cheers

Can't disagree with your impression of the first portion of the show comprised entirely of The Overview. It is a fascinating composition that does not (did not) translate as well live as on record. Was hoping it was going to be reproduced in an Atmos mix but, as soon as I arrived at the venue, I knew that was not going to be the case.

Having seen the Wilson touring band when it included Govan and MInnemann, I was pleased with this version as well. Beggs and Adam Holzman have been mainstays and certainly did not disappoint. After hearing guitarist Randy McStine's collaborations with Minnemann I was excited to hear how he would interpret this material. The Overview was difficult to judge for me, perhaps due more to the rigid orchestration and charts as opposed to his technical or improvisational skills. On the other material he fared, in my opinion, better. Even his guitar tone was more appealing but that might have been the material as well. Govan is a high bar for comparison but McStine's playing (and singing) sat well in the context of the other musicians and the performance overall. Still, I admit that I am a Steven Wilson fan and would be hard pressed not to attend a performance.

All good…..We’ve been seeing SW since GFD when Minneman was playing with SW. Marco gave my wife a drum stick after the show. Good about that is it was not a new one, it was the stick he finished with.
I think the best tour we saw was TTB in Seattle. Ninet opened the show and she absolutely killed it on stage, she is amazing presence. That’s when my wife became a huge fan. My wife does not buy or wear concert tees but she bought a Ninet shirt.

Then Ninet came out for a few songs during SW set….It was an excellent show.

We don’t miss SW concerts either.
