This is a fantastic series, one of those dark passage cynical exposes about the meaning, acquisition and practice of politics and power in (where else) Chicago.
Kelsey Grammer gives an emmy, if not oscar worthy, performance as the basilisk-like mayor of Chicago, a crusty survival reptile who is as scary as a mafia don but far more resourceful. Great supporting cast as well, with a bit of Chicago historical interest thrown in, but I find it hard to believe the city would approve of the series.
Actor Grammer is reputedly blackballed from receiving awards for the role because of his Republican leanings.
