Rockport Cyngus versus Focal Maestro Utopia Evo?

The Cyngus and the Maestro appear to have very similar design approaches: Two 10" woofers, ported; 6" midrange; beryllium tweeters (convex versus concave domes). They are also very similarly priced.

Has anyone listened to these side-by-side in the same room, with the same setup, or having owned one of them transitioned to the other?

My question here is not one of design differences such as cone material, etc, which are known, but experienced respective sound differences or similarities, relative strengths and weaknesses sonically e.g. resolution, balance, soundstage, etc.

Is anyone here in an informed position to comment firsthand?

Thank you.

I guess that no one has had the opportunity to listen to such a comparison.

I suppose the next best thing is this: Has anyone listened to both the Focal Utopia range compared to the Rockport line and come up with any subjective differences? Are there relative strengths and weaknesses between them?

Thanks, gentlemen!

I have heard the top of the line Focal's at a friends house. And I have Rockport Lyra's. I do not think these speakers are similar. Very different cabinet contruction, drivers and crossovers. Superficially maybe in the fact they are both ported, B. tweeters etc, but that's about all you can say.

They are both good, I am very biased towards Rockports. Once you hear these speakers (doesn't matter which model) it's hard to listen to anything else in my humble opinion. Good luck !
