Hi everyone,

I’m new here and have always loved the classic look of the Shelby Cobra 427 — especially the iconic blue with white stripes or other authentic vintage styles. I’m currently shopping for a replica, as I want something I can truly enjoy driving, not just keep stored in a garage. The appeal for me is not only the updated components in modern builds, but also being able to experience that timeless design on the road.

I understand prices can vary quite a bit depending on what’s under the hood and the quality of the build. I’ve recently been looking into Kirkham Motorsports in Utah and would love to hear from anyone who has experience with them. Are they reputable, and do they produce a high-quality product?

My goal is to find a great car without overpaying or getting caught in a bad deal. I’d really appreciate any honest opinions, advice, or personal experiences you’re willing to share — whether it’s about Kirkham specifically or buying a Cobra replica in general.

Thanks in advance for your insights!
Looking forward to learning from the community.

I have ALWAYS wanted a Cobra (replica - if authentic, I'd keep it in a vault!) Please watch this video, and you may change you mind and get what I got. The owner of the company is a huge Carroll Shelby fan!

I assume you are looking for a complete car versus building a kit yourself? I have no experience with Kirkham however I did build a Factory Five kit with my neighbor which was a lot of fun and relatively easy. I'd love to build one with my son when he gets a little older.

I would recommend visiting Kirkham and get to know them before writing the check. Good luck!!

BTW: I got a turnkey. I'm a decent mechanic, but the potential for problems escalates with a kit car. Right at 100K
