I thought I'd start a thread since I haven't really seen it discussed anywhere yet.

CH Precision quietly rolled out a firmware upgrade at the start of Munich and, while it seems to primarily be about Qobuz Connect, there's a major update hidden in here.

From the website:
  • Introduce Qobuz Connect support.
  • Streaming HD Board Upgrade: We are pleased to announce a significant upgrade to the Streaming HD board, which now features the same advanced network stack as the C10 device.
  • We've made improvements to stability, in some challenging conditions, and fixed various issues to provide you with a more reliable performance.
Trickle down tech from the C10 into the streaming board??!?!! I was excited to check this out so I dove right in on my I1. In short, I believe the sonic upgrade that this provides is significant. I'm only a few days in listening and I have to say that the biggest change I've noticed is a smoothness for lack of a better word. That's a term I would have never used to describe CH in the past. That's why I kept my Innuos Statement because I felt it was just a bit smoother and more relaxed/easier to listen to while sacrificing just a bit of detail and air. Now though? It's turned my perceptions upside down.

Oh and as an aside it sure it nice to use my iPhone/iPad to control Qobuz instead of an Android tablet! :D I wish CH would make an app for Apple devices.

I also heard this upgrade on the C1.2 and it's just as major IMO.

Has anyone else performed the firmware update and evaluated it yet?
