Opus3 is label based in Sweden which has specialized in jazz, classical and blues and folk records. They have been recognized for very high quality sound. They recorded on analogue tape and decided in the early 2010's to release tapes of about 50 their analogue albums made directly from their original master tapes. All tapes are 15ips 2 track, IEC Equalization. They use the same machines as their original recording and editing, a modified Technics 1500 and Telefunken Magnetophone M-28 to make their copies. This is as close to the original master tapes as one can get. After I read a review by Myles Astor, I bought 10 two reel albums in 2012 (IIRC for $500 per album) and they gave me one free album I chose 10 classical titles and a wonderful folk and blues album called "Rainbow People" by Eric Bibb. They limited the production of these tapes to 50 copies, so they would not wear out their master tapes. I believe my copies are among the first they did. I added labels on the spine of the boxes for easy reading. Note, the first tape is on one reel. This is because it is around 34 minutes long and originally came on two reels. I spliced the two reels together since it does fit on one full reel of tape. There are also several sampler tapes that I bought after the first 11 albums. Those were offered at a lower price. Opus3 did not provide any fancy packaging. The tapes came on SM468 tape in the original blank tape boxes with a small sticker on the box cover. There is a copy of the album insert from the CD release of the album. The sampler tapes only have a list of the excerpts in the tapes.

I checked the internet and saw that Elusive Disc in the US sells Opus3 tapes. The price for the albums is $550 and the price of the sampler tapes is $400. Go to their REEL TO REEL TAPE section pages 12 to 15. Kevin Berg of Elusive Disc was my ordering contact for the Opus3 tapes back in 2012.

BTW, the second row of tapes in my photo also includes some blank reels and the beginning of my classical tape collection.
