Anyone hear about a new MSL cartridge above the Platinum? Availability? Name? What differences?

Hey @Joel27 it's been 9 months since we posted in this thread. Thought I'd see if you received your Sig Platinum? I've only had my new Signature Diamond for a few days and playing with loading values but I can say I don't think I'll ever consider another cartridge. I'm over the moon and the next planet and the next. Hope some day you will get a chance to hear one.
Happy Listening

I have my Signature Diamond today. It is really very good straight out of the box. There are many high end cartridges in my system but this one stands out by some margin.

Signature Diamond sets a new standard for other manufacturers.

@TLi yes it does set a new standard. I've been playing with loading from initially 600 ohms to 248 then 404 to 324 and lastly 358 ohms. The numbers are based on using RCA plugs with different value resistors. So far the 358 sounds best but values can vary based on one's phono unit. After 1 month playing the Sig Diamond into a MC section will try it with a SUT.
Please keep me posted what loading you find best.
Enjoy

I use CH Precision P10 phonostage and use its current mode. There is no need to worry about the loading, so I don't know the best ohms for voltage mode.

The Platinum is my go to cart so much so that I acquired another unit for my place in Australia. Other carts are played less in deference to the Platinum. Maybe I should also think about the Diamond :p

OK circling back to this. What does the diamond do better than the platinum ? Thanks.

Both are highly resolving but the Diamond has faster transients, I can “feel” the leading edge of some instruments better defined if this makes sense. It also has greater micro retrieval and is more neutral sounding but if you never heard the Diamond you would think the Platinum is very neutral until you hear the Diamond. The bass on the Diamond is faster and the top end is even more extended if that’s even possible. To me, the Platinum is just too polite-sounding without the impact that gets you involved in the listening experience. I also found my Platinum didn’t like my Kuzma Safir arm but loved my CS Port AFU-1 linear tracker arm. However, the Diamond is wonderful sounding on the Safir. Strange but this is from my own experience.

Thanks SOS for the insight. Purchase has been justified. :p :p :p :p . Seriously I had the platinum on a brighter pair of speakers - Focals. Consideringthe diamond for the incoming more mellow TAD R1s.

Gentlemen, may I ask for your advice regarding tonearm cables suitable for MYSL cartridges in this new thread?
