My thought exactly. Seems like it is hand soldered which defeats the purpose of using surface mount design. I can almost see a short between two of the pins on the BB DAC. The resistors and such all look crooked. I don't know that I have ever seen such a poor job of assembling a surface mount board. I would be concerned about reliability of the unit.
