One of my favorite Broadway shows of all time

Cannot wait until it opens

Can't wait. Can't wait. Can't wait. I'm so excited, the song alone gives me goosebumps even today. Saw it the first time in SF's Curran Theatre in the 80s, bought its record in the lobby itself, and saw the musical again in London in the 90s. Great cast too in the movie!

I remember in high school one of our books to read in English class was the Bishop's Candle Sticks, which started it all

I didn't realize that Anne Hathaway can sing, and rap! :D

She's going to be great as Fantine.

not only that but in all of her most recent movies she has always had a topless scene. Could this be so in Les Mis ;)

that's right, steve. and i, or we, would hope so. :D

BTW, Ann Hathaway sung when she emceed the Academy Awards a few years ago

My wife and I saw this Christmas day at the local cineplex - a wonderful musical and emotional experience. Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Anne Hathaway as Fontine, and Samantha Barks as Esponine are simply phenomenal. The director (Tom Hooper) made a conscientious decision for all dialog to be sung live while filming and it works beautifully. The emotion in many scenes is palpable, but Hathaway's "Dreamed a Dream" about a 1/4 into the film is a highlight. All the actors and director I mentioned should win awards for this awesome movie.
