Is this the latest audio product for the ipod generation; WOWee One

Seems MTV is promoting this new product a fair bit and doing competitions relating to it (saw them pushing this product again yesterday), so it is having its profile raised by a still prominent music channel.
This is a portable speaker, simple to use and looks to appeal to the younger generation;

Not saying it is great and there are other portable speakers, but the key is the appeal IMO, ironically there are better portable speakers but not sure if they are getting the same attention or have that "cool ipod accessory" demand.

A bit sad. The iPod is a capable and truly high fidelity source. When it's not being used as a portable device playing through headphones, it should be plugged into something that delivers its potential and exposing its users to good audio.

I have a different take on it. If this product gets young kids excited about better sound, it may make them curious to see how far they can take it.
