Interesting that the wire used is un- insulated.


Actually, it is insulated with a varnish which has to be removed before you can solder the wire. It just looks like solid copper with no insulation, but it's not.

Technically I think they call it enameled. The old MIT hook wire was like that though it had a covering too. Is a bitch to solder and one really needed a solder pot to do the old MIT hookup wire properly :(
 
The bottom line is that this is the type of guy who is your worst nightmare in terms of buying a kit from that he was responsible for assembling/soldering. This guy obviously has no solder training or assembly skills and his work is a nightmare.

Agreed.
 
Never ever buy a kit once it's built. Unless a known expert did the build. Even then, be careful. If Bill Thalmann built it... ok dokey. If I built it, sort of ok but I'm no Thalmann.
