Field-Coil Speaker Review: the Wolf von Langa SON

@Perfect sense Audio you can guide better as you have the PILIUM and can understand the best match thank you

We do represent Pilium, but not Kharma or Vivid. Both are more reasonable choices paired with Pilium than WFL, I can tell you that much.

My general advice is to choose speakers first based on preference, room size/acoustics and design followed by amplification.

You do have a broad range of speaker options available with the potential of working well with your Pilium Leonidas though which is a good thing.

These are the SONs in their natural habitat... my home. Excuse the vintage Mission 737, much like the vaunted cobbler, I've run out of room for all my ... and they do look nice. I assure you their pristine white baffles are on display just for show. They are NOT connected at the moment, but fully operational; they can be called into service at a moment's notice.

The current roster of gear supporting the SONs in their worthwhile endeavours:

English Acoustics 41C stereo amplifier (valve)
Trafomatic Aries headphone amplifier (valve) serving duty as a preamplifier.
SVS 3000 Micro subwoofer (in the photo, also, not connected). *It's the cobbler's life for me :)

FWIW Source Gear:

SW1X DAC II (valve)
SW1X Phono LPU I phono stage (valve)
Magnavox Philips CDB650 CD player
California Audio Labs Sigma DAC (valve)
Denon DP-61F turntable
Denon DL-103 cartridge
Diretta Project (AudioLinux digital endpoint, Pi4 Host, Pi5 Target)

Having visited Colin on 3 separate occasions at shows and having come back on several times at each, I knew I just had to have them at mine. The finish on my pair is so exquisitely matched that I nicknamed them "Hermann" after the noted Swiss psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach.
While I have never heard WVL speakers, I use a custom made WVL PSU for my own field coil horns and it's really good. I think Wolf knows his stuff when it comes to field coils, so I would not be surprised if WVL speakers sound outstanding.
