DS Audio 003

I installed the DS003 and was amazed at the detail, clarity and bass. It seamed to be pulling even more out of well know records that I thought I knew.

Which DS "phono amp" (forgot what they call their box that "interprets" the signal from the cartridge and connects to your preamp)? What did you have before the DS003? Thanks

The matching DS 003 phono pre/energizer. The previous cart was a HANA-Umami Red.

DS has multiple levels of both the cartridge and the pre/energizer. Their literature says you can "mix and match". Does anyone have experience with DS as to whether the cartridge or the pre/energizer has the most influence on the sound quality?

This review of the Master 3 suggests that the bigger improvement is with the cartridge rather than the pre/energiser

I've been running my DS003 Cartridge with a DIY Optical Phono using two OP828 Op-Amps (Dual Mono config) with a beefy Toroidal Power Supply. I can't go back to Magnets & Coils ever again.

Linn LP12/Ekos/DS003/Lingo - Circa 1989 ! MInt Condition and I rewired the Tonearm with Silver over Coppers quad shielded wire.

Nice to know for all of us who have the Umami Red. Which phonostage did you use w/ the Red?
