During my search for a dac, like with TT and other components, certain names/brands would show up that got me curious. Having learned about the different types of dacs I now have a better understanding of what I want from them. Much as I like options, I find myself just plugging the thing in and letting it work. Well recorded 16/44 material sounds amazing, and it doesn't leave me wondering if I'm missing anything by not having higher resolution. Next up is filters, software and the like, I find I'm more of a 'set and forget' listener.
This got me wondering if any of you have owned some of the dacs I will list, and whether you've compared them to other dacs.
I've recently had a an ANK 5.1 Signature to try out; fantastic sound, big soundstage, detailed, very musical and enjoyable to listen to for hours. Has anyone compared this model to an actual Audio Note 4 or 5 dac?
Next up is Abbas dacs; I've read a bit about them, wondering who has one and how you feel about it, or compared it to.
K&K Raleigh Audio Premium Extreme RAKK Tube DAC MkIII is another I see from time to time.
Lastly a 90's model Theta DS Pro Generation V (or Va in some cases).
