I'm in the market for a new rack. I like the industrial look of the Rack of Silence. I was wondering what people who have lived with one think about it?

In addition to the clean modern look, I appreciate the resonance control this rack provides my source equipment.

I'm using ultrasonic acrylic led shelving sat on the bracing
rather than individual Solid Tech FOS, and replaced the floor spikes with Nordost Ti Pulsar points.

IMO resonance control enhances
resolution, instrumental images, and dynamics, creating more realism and presence.

I am using two of them in a mixed configuration (where I use both Ref 2 and Ref 3 together) for my HT setup and one other Ref 1 for an amp. It is attractive but leveling takes some effort (especially if the bolt/nut falls inside the tube near the end). Not sure how excellent resonant control is with the springs but they do offer a soft bouncy platform for the gear. Additionally, the x-brace does limit placing other footers on (like Stillpoints or Nordost Sort Kones - which I use under the BD player). Since the width of the brace is only about 1/2", the footers sit precariously on them. Obviously, one can use a platform over the brace but that will incur additional height. All in all, still a nice rack for the price.

An alternative rack one can consider is the Adona Reference series (http://www.adonacorporation.com/reference.html). I think they look pretty nice too, imho.

They are excellent. I narrowed my choice down to the Rack of Silence and Townshend and ultimately went with the Townshend. However I could have been happy with either. The ROS is "nicer" looking but IMO I believe the Townshend has slightly more isolation if addition to the rack you use their pods. Max Townshend has some nice analysis of his racks. Few people are aware of them but Barry Diamante turned me on to them and I trust Barry's opinion. Like the ROS you can get it curtailed to the wait of your equipment.
