Amarra 3.0 with DSD

Sonic Studio has released version 3.0 of Amarra Symphony with support for DSD files. There's a substantial discount for owners of Amarra Symphony, too!

Unfortunately that only means DSD to PCM conversion: no native DSD.

This is what the Sonic Studio website says regarding DSD support in Amarra 3.0:

DSD playback
- Supports 64/128 DSF formats
- Uses advanced realtime DSD to PCM conversion

I am not interested in that either.

Well, for $29, I can now play my DSD files through my non-DSD DAC. Until I can afford a multi-format DAC, I'm quite pleased to hear more of my collection.

Are you aware that other players (like Audirvana) could do that too, right?
I'm guessing Amarra has been your favourite player so far, so that feature is new to you...

Yes, I knew about the others. I invested in Amarra early on and decided to NOT play the "playback software shuffle" game, until there was definitive evidence that one type was superior. So, I get in cheap for now, until a new DAC that does everything.

Get in cheap? Amarra has been the most expensive player out there. What did it start out as, $700 ??
