AIR TIGHT ATM-3211

I don’t know how to elaborate on that. When you listen you know. You are going to struggle to find any push pull amp of that wattage come close to a decent power watt triode amp, but you will need matching speakers. So for speakers like yours you need the 85 watt absolare (relative to 211s) and even the Absolare might not be sufficient
A side question: Do you think the Airtight has enough power to drive a speaker with 98 db and 3-4 ohms?

Dunno. You will just have to try.

The Absolure integrated couldn’t properly drive the Clarysis Minuets.

I'm a little confused here. Are you saying that the Absolare SET (845 x 2 in PSET for 52 watts) will have more perceived power than the Absolare Push-Pull (845 x 2 in push-pull for 85 watts)?

I am not thinking about these amplifiers to use full range. I'm thinking about these amplifiers to drive only the midrange/tweeter ribbon (as a competing substitute for the 80 watt JA100 which works fine to drive solely the midrange/tweeter ribbon).

Does the CJ ART 108a (Triode?) amp work for y9u, Ron? Ked - is this really a triode in the way you were using the term above?

That amp uses KT88s wired in triode configuration. The 845 is a directly-heated triode tube. Of course I'd be curious to hear the 108A versus the Jadis, but I'd rather explore a different amp topology rather than a different amp of the same topology.

In other words for Class A, push-pull, KT88-type amps wired in triode I am happy with Jadis.

No I meant the 85 watts push pull will have more power than the AT 211

I heard Absolare on Rockport ..... no bottom end control
The Absolare Hybrid Monos had wonderful control.

If you're talking about the Absolare SET, of course 52 watts is not enough to control a Rockport.

The Air Tight ATM-3211 also is push-pull. This is why you are confusing me.

Ok, my confusion. I thought the 3211 was just a newer version of their older 211 22 watt model which I liked. Ignore my 3211 comments then, I meant in prefer AT 211 to Absolare

The newer version of the 211 is the 2211 with 32 watt output. The 3211 produce a different sound to the 2211.
The 2211 sounds smooth, relaxed and rather laid back. I liked the sound with orchestral and other classical music. But with jazz or rock i found them a bit too polite. On the opposite side the 3211 sounds also very smooth, but with much more resolution and explosivity. The amp has more control in the bass what i expected. But the greatest surprise for me was the far better resolution in the highs.

Welcome to WBF!

By "far better resolution in the highs" do you mean that the highs were more pronounced, more prominent?

Thank you, Ron
I would say, that the highs are more detailed. So that the amp showes more of the informations which are in the recorded music.

That suggests to me maybe an indication of the push-pull design over the SET. I would prefer the less detailed SET sound.
