I added an Ideon Absolute Time and Absolute Time Signature V to my system. The Signature V sits between my Antipodes K50 USB and my Cascade (Pro ISL USB input) and also between my Trinnov and my Cascade (SPDIF). The other unit sits between my Bacch dio and the Cascade (SPDIF) and my temporary Tidal streamer (an iFi Zen via USB) and the Bacch.
Scott Walker audio in Dallas provided good advice and was easy to work with. They tested one of their units in front of their Cascade before recommending that I try it.The machine language programmer in me was skeptical - that side of my brain thought that there should be plenty of jitter and noise reduction built into the DACs and processors - while the long term audiophile in me remembers the big difference a PS Audio Digital Lens made to a Meridian 800 player back in the day.
It’s a very nice upgrade. It didn’t take more than a few seconds to discern that things were better, but extended listening made me appreciate it more. The soundstage grew in both specificity and scale, transients “snapped” into focus, and tones became both more distinct (pure) and rich.
Highly recommended.
